I've got a quiet evening planned - pizza, friends, a little swimming pool hot tub time, and a movie or two, depending on the overall mood. I've been so busy with work I haven't had much social time is the last two months or so, so I am looking forward to it.

Hey...it's Harry Potter's birthday...
So I recommend a whacky Harry Potter themed party.

I'm already dressed for it. Lol
I'll try to post a pic later.
My crazy office is celebrating with costumes, games and prizes... hah!

Pic up for a limited time only.

You Missed it...

It's the last weekend in July. Summer is in full swing but it's just starting to show its age. Holidays and vacations are here for those still looking to get away. The sun is coming up just a little later these days, and of course the Dog Days are making their way. The natural cadence of the season marches on.

What about your own natural cadence. Do you fight it, trying to dictate terms? Do you begrudgingly accept it for what it is, or do you fully embrace and celebrate it because life is too short?

If I am understanding the question, my answer is...complicated. I suffer from insomnia, hence I don't sleep well, if at all. I have chosen to work overnights; I'm up all night, and try and sleep all day, with mixed results. I have days off in the middle of the week, which puts me at odds with the 9-5, M-f crowd. And I work retail, which means most weekends and holidays I have to work. So my rhythm is off from the rest of the world, and I am constantly trying to adjust to fit. Which does not always work, and makes me grumpy....but such is my life

I have been "off" for the last few months. I know why and I'm very much looking forward to returning to my normal cadence. I really hope I get back to it.

I'm the meantime, it is a stormy, rainy day here. Which is the exact opposite of what this summer has been so far. It is a lovely deviation. :)

I tend to rather work more in the summer to facilitate other's vacations. I am someone who finds great pleasure in the joys of every season...what the weather and changes bring through the year and pay close attention to the phases of the moon, the tide cycles, what's blooming in the yard and what's fresh to eat from the garden.

I'm eagerly planning a later summer vacation after others have returned to school etc... so summer feels just at its perfect peak to me now.

Fresh raspberries to eat... so juicy they stain my fingers red like blood. Unable to not grin as I eat berry after berry...

I like order in chaos.
My cadence is more practical, but I am trying to become more spontaneous in things to lighten up.

one thing I've learned in this thread is that vague questions that leave a lot of room for interpretation aren't nearly as popular as more direct questions.

So what have you learned about or from this thread?

I've learned that I miss it when LS and Suz_anne hijack the thread for their own pervy interests
