Having been the object of some recent drama, I believe that for most, the "anonymous rant" allows most of us to vent, without appearing as too big an a-hole. If I call Pmann out, for example, then his friends have to call me out, then my friends get into it, and before you know it, it's Civil War (plug for the movie). But if I just say "the pretentious twatwaffle"....well, that could be anybody! It's public shaming, while allowing both sides to save a little face. But I could be wrong...
Ooooh. Drama. Do tell.
Spill the beans, motherfucker. I just feel like it's so petty.
And honestly, lots of times you can even tell who the shit is about. So that's nice, but lame that they just don't fucking say it. If I had a dollar for every time I saw,
"Dear Charming, Beautiful Cawked, Classy, Fashionable Lister,
You have effectively ruined all men for me from this day forward. I'll never love again.
Sincerely,
Big Tits McGee"
I would be rich.
Fermina_Daza posted a good one the other night where she named the bastard she was trying to shame. It was so nice to see. I wanted to high five her. I get so sick of that cryptic bullshit. And enough people know to make it annoying, so it isn't really in the name of secrecy or not being melodramatic. It's just trying to stay classy when it's just annoying. Kind of like when women in the south say something like, "Oh her ass looks like a sack of cats wrestling in those baggy pants, bless her heart." It's still a dick thing to do. Saying bless her heart makes it no less dicky. Making it anonymous just makes it lame.
The one thing nice about the GB is that people aren't cryptic. I kind of like that. If someone is being a dick, then they get called a dick. They don't vaguely post about it and then have several of their girlfriends agree, all catty like. I say girlfriends because it is usually girls I see doing this. Not to say that guys don't. It is just more common to have girls post like that.
Thank you Suz_anne.
