Of Mark Martin, my favorite NASCAR racer because he is a real racer.

Is poised to win one of America's greatest car races.

And he gets a $1,000,000 if he wins.

He ain't a bad guyt. If he wins- he's gonna share it with his crew.

GO MARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sorry riff, but I just do not get the appeal of NASCAR.
Maybe it is because I am a chick, but what is it about fast cars on a track going around and around? Most every guy I know is watching that race.
I am serious though, what is the appeal?

Mark is gonna win if his engine don't die.

GO MARK! GO! :)

And a Ford at that. :)

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

How about sticking some Viagra in the carburetor? :D

Suzi

PS) I love racing...I just don't have cable!

I use to think it was rediculous until I fell in love with someone that considered it their favorite spectator sport. Then I changed my attitude about it. She's out of my life, but I'm keeping NASCAR.
Unlike other professional sports, it's non-union. It's a different climate than other pro sports. The drivers risk their lives to compete. If a driver doesn't race successfully, or else treat the fans well ,making public appearences, etc, - no sponsorship, no ride.

Ask them to teach you about it.

Because the governing body makes up the rules as it goes, including handi-caps of sorts, & they're striving to make the race competetive, you never know who is going to win- so it's a lot like horse racing, except that one race lasts all afternoon.

There are a lot of technical points to get wrapped up in, too. Or simply takew sides on the whole Ford vs. Chevy thing.
