Literotica violating copyrights

For all you authors, please be aware that Literotica is violating copyrights. I wrote a story called "Wife Pays for Husband's Shortcomings" in 2005 and a reader emailed me to tell me Chapter 1 was posted on Literotica. I emailed both Laurel and the author asking for it to be removed. I just checked and not only wasn't it removed, but Chapter 2 was posted.

As an author, I would be wary of posting stories on Literotica if they don't honor copyrights. Who knows what else they do.

That's the first time I've heard of that happening. I'm sure Laurel took the story down as soon as she found out.

I know they don't make a habit of this.

Generally, emailing Laurel isn't very successful. I would recommend that you send her a PM with all of the details.

I just did a search for your title and didn't come up with any results. It would probably help if links to your original work and the stolen work were provided.

Here's more information

You didn't find the story by title because the "author" spelled it wrong. The person who submitted my story is called DC29. He left out the "s" in "Shortcomings" and posted the story as "Wife Pays for Husband's Shortcoming."

The original story was posted in 2005 on another site. It can be found at:

I just did a search for DC29. He has no stories so I guess it's been pulled.

Laurel gets really protective of author's copyrights. When stuff is stolen from Lit she works very hard to get the stolen works pulled. She's usually successful.

It looks like she's just as ferocious about people stealing stuff to post on Lit.

Yep, it's gone. There were two stories on his page 30 minutes ago. So, I guess it proves yet once again, Laurel is on the job!

SB,

I have enjoyed all your threads: My Story was Stolen - Please Help (2002); Literotica Violating Copyrights; My Story was Stolen (2008); I Guess I Shouldn't Have Ranted; and Never mind my previous thread.

Welcome to the AH!

You're probably not likely to return for six more years, though, are you? :(

We'll miss you! :D

He could've just written another story instead of writing five threads on the same thing, ya think?

But if we really miss him and want him to come back without waiting another six years, we can just steal his story again, yey? :D
