The idea: it’s like a book club, but instead a story club, one member selects a story and we all have to read it by a given time. Then we meet, maybe in a chatroom, or maybe on a message board, and share our thoughts, ideas about the story … did the story make us so hot that we had to get out the lotion/vibrator, or was the story so off-putting that we now couldn’t even finish.

About me: I’m 33/M, in graduate school, and am very creative. I love to read and write erotic fiction. I love to IM and cyber, and share hot, sensual e-mails.

How to Join: This concept is at its infancy, so if you are interested, drop me a PM and I’ll give you my e-mail and we can discuss the idea and how to make it happen. I welcome all ideas and suggestions.

Be Naughty!

No offense meant, but did you actually read my post in the AH thread you started all the way to the end?

This is already going on in this very forum. All you need to do is participate.

Hi, Ricky,

As Jen said, this forum is already pretty much what you describe, though if I'm reading you right, there are two differences.

1) You're suggesting the readers/critics choose the stories to be discussed, whereas normally the authors submit their own.

2) The focus of the discussions you envision would be a bit more erotic and a bit less technical.

As far as I can see, it doesn't seem like a bad idea to have both kinds of discussions going on here, especially at times when the authors interested in input are scarce. Only Penny or Pure will be able to tell you for sure, though.

Cheers,

Verdad

Good point. Although, to be honest, I don't think the first point is a good one to implement. There are quite a few writers who don't appreciate their stories being discussed in this way, and who might be upset by some more negative comments. I'd rather have the feedback go to the authors who appreciate and volunteer for such a thing.

With number 2, I don't have a problem. I was intimidated by the discussions here as well at first, because they were very in-depth. But no one says that we can't do both here.

Oops, I see what you mean. I didn't think of that. In the one sense, of course, anyone releasing something to public consumption must expect it to be subject to discussion by whoever pleases. But in another, there is the community aspect here at Lit and discussing stories that weren't volunteered by the authors could appear like talking behind their backs. It would be kind of impolite if the author wasn't contacted or asked for permission.

I guess the idea appealed to me because it would be kind of cool having a weekly story selected by someone who's already found it hot or interesting in some other way. Who knows whether it would work well in practice.
