was hoping to get a basic head count on who would really be into such a thing and how much of you would be? (eg: 50% 75% haha, etc. lol)

This could be intereting if people actually reply!

There are some people I would like to meet but I am going to have a hard enough time getting my posessive (sp?) hubby let me go to the wonderful wedding!

Then again, I suppose it could be just a fear thing too, especially with all the freaky stuff that you read about in the news... so if that is the case, I suppose it makes sense...

Actually, I'm kinda surprised that no one has posted to this, Jade. There was a similar thread a few months ago that got a lot of interest, but then it just faded away.

A lot of us expressed interest, but something tells me that timing and location could be a bitch. That being said, it's still something I'd be interested in - and I'm sure many others would too. I think what it's gonna take is one person to take control of organizing (and this is definitely NOT me volunteering for that thankless job, LOL) and just going from there.

I think if you were talking about a one on one meeting, I'd be very leary. I could count on one hand here the number of people on this board that I would meet without reservation - and probably have a finger or two left.

In a group setting I'd be more open to doing something like this. If it gets too freaky you've always got the option of jumping in your car in getting the hell out, or locking yourself away in your hotel room.

And it doesn't look like anyone's talking about anything yet, Whispersecret. Looks like all they've been doing is talking about the idea of talking about something, LOL.

Jade, I would love to attend such a gathering. I don't post often and really only know one person from this BB. I think meeting some of these very interesting folks in a group setting could be a riot! It could certainly get weird but Lasher is right, there should always be escape plans (in almost any social gathering).

If this wedding takes place in Ohio during a time that I can make a visit to my parents (who live in Louisville, Kentucky), then I would most certainly make every effort to be there, especially after having just read Angelique's beautiful email. Damn girl! Do you own stock in Kleenex or something!? If so, your investment just went skyrocketing through the roof! I'm a freakin' faucet right now after reading your letter, hon!

What happened today just plain amazes me...the announcement, the response and of course the most amazing aspect of it all...the joining of two lives...two hearts...two beautiful souls. Laurel and Manu, there just really aren't adequate enough words to thank and praise you for all that you have done here. There just isn't.

People come and go around here, but for the most part, it is my belief that those who keep coming back become part of a truly unique "family" where we laugh, we cry, we joke, we fight, but most importantly...we each, in our own special way, make this place what it REALLY is for so many of us--HOME.

Yes as wizard says we are planning on going to the wedding everyone should not be worried. Heck you talk with all of us what is there to be worried about. Go and support angelique and xander they both deserve our support and friendship for the big day. And we should be there (if at all possible) for them because it is a special day for them and we al want to see them happy. Heck it is the first big literotica wedding so I hope to see a lot of you out there I know me and wizard are looking forward to meeting all of you.

As far as off-line meet ups are concerned, theres a UK based site, http://www.liv4now.com , which regularly organises meet-ups for its members - usually in a pub in London. I don't know whether you could get any tips there re organisation.

I'd love to go myself, but it depends on my job. I'll definately be there in spirit! (pref. whisky! )

If this helps anyone we live maybe 2 or 2and a half hours from Angeliue and if anyone want's to make it here on the way and to the wedding they are welcome to crash here then we can all move on in the moring.
