Literature buffs: current examples of decadence

A friend of mine needs examples of decadence in 21st century culture or entertainment/art. Goth and glam seem like lush territory here, but she needs something more specific. Would it be, for example, fair to call Tim Burton a derivitive of decadence, or at least the gothic/Poe end of it? What about David Bowie or Elton John? I only have a vague idea of what I'm talking about here, though; perhaps I'm on the wrong track completely...?
 
Define decadance in Literature - it is totally subjective. One person's decadent work is another person's Pulitzer Prize candidate.

I think Burton is a fair examply of Gothic as far as theatrical artistry... but as for literary example... who can you use to compare to ... as far as horror writers go you have King or Barker... but I don't think either quite fit that same mold.
