Lit-togethers...

They sound like so much fun...meeting the people you've come to know so well online...but they always seem to be too far for me to attend .

So my question is this...how many would be able to attend one in Florida...probably central Florida area around the theme parks and such or maybe out by one of the beaches?

I'm not suggesting one as of yet...would just like to see if the attendace would be high enough to go through the pain of planning one in the future

That's my problem too. Too far away. Maeve tried to get interest up for one in Memphis, but not enough people bit.

You don't have to do a lot of planning. Just let them show up somewhere, pick a nearby meeting spot, and leave them alone to plan their own lodging and transportation. There's several prominent AH people in Fla. Some of you could easily meet every month for coffee and. Without all the painful folderol of planning.

Chicago tends to be the closest ones to me....that or the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. I've never been to one either.

I might be in Orlando for a martial arts tournament in June-ish. It depends if I can get my three section staff routine up to par in time or not. Otherwise the closest I will get is, well, New Jersey where I am anyway...

i'm moving to FL, and wouldn't mind meeting up for coffee with a couple of people. As to a full-blown lit-together... well... i tried to convince the Bodyguard that i (or we - certainly don't want to exclude him) should go to one of them in the planning stages. i got an absolute hell no for that one.

Come to think of it, Texas might be a better venue than Fla.

Well that's my problem...it is a couple hours flight away and I don't really care to fly(unless it is for someone I am VERY close to)...driving over long distances is a little tiresome too...Florida is easy cause that is where I am...call me lazy if you will

Just keep plugging away sweety, that's how we got the Chicago one started. I'll definitely come down if you can get one going (any excuse to spend the weekend with you ).

Disney, I hate that mouse. There are some really neat clubs around the attractions area...Des and I visited one while he was here that had a live band (they were REALLY good)...drinks & dancing...that would be loads of fun
