There are a number of writers here at Lit who produce mostly poetry. Others of us dabble there occasionally, always fearing the “real” poets will stone us from the category but driven, nonetheless, to express ourselves in a somewhat poetic manner.

However, most of the lovely, sexy, wildly erotic, angry, bewildered, hurt, lost, pantingly hot, sometimes achingly tender poetry here doesn’t get read. It’s sad.

There is an enormous selection of poems that diverge widely with regard to subject matter; something for all kinks, all tastes, is available. Trust me.

There are many Lit authors who mostly write stories, the stories you know and go out of your way to read, but who also try poetry on occasion. There are others who remain mostly within the realm of poetry to express their thoughts. In any case, I’d like to invite you all to visit the Poetry sections of Lit and sample, just a couple times a week, a few of the marvelous flavors one can taste at will.

Vote, too, because Poetry is the pathetically neglected stepchild of all Lit categories. Send feedback, even if it’s only to say you were moved. We so appreciate hearing from you.

Thanx for this post.. and the vote of confidence.
I like your stand and the efforts you've made!

I write mostly poetry and during my soul bearing moments I learned that it takes a certain kind of person to really appreciate poetry and verse. To some readers it will never be more than gibberish, chaos of words. I don't feel bad towards these individuals, it's really not there fault. Poets are a special breed.... and poetry lovers are even more precious.

As the Aussies would say, "Good on yer, mate!" I have read, and downloaded for re-reading, many poems from this site. Unfortunately, poetry gets short shrift these days, except perhaps in Russia and Persia. But let the poets here not despair. Keep posting. Some one is reading.

Thank you for posting this here as well cymbidia!!
Hope many people follow your advice cause it's certainly worth it!

Poetry?

there once was a girl named cym
Who creamed from cunt and quim
To give her a spank
Many man would wank
And once blown, their lights would dim

Oh so its terrible... I'm sorry

Ohhhh... you're creative today, i see.

No no no, it's not terrible at all.
Just submit it to Lit, add it to our little Poetry collection.
It'll do well, i just know it.
It'll rocket to the top of the TopList, forevermore to stick right there.
Really.

Yeah and join all my other poem's there.... yeah right!

And I spose I name it Cym's quim... and other things...

That wasn't creative it was FUCKING terrible

jealosy is an ugly thing, isn't it?

... and i'm consumed by it, too, having seen the fullness of your beautiful words to/about Simply Southern and Never.

I would have sent you real feedback, not this in-channel mocking stuff, if you would allow it (i give great feedback - ask anyone). Alas, your anon feedback function is turned off.

You were only making fun of me with your jesting lymrick!
~sob sob sob~
(no real sobs, btw... ~wink~)
;)

Hmmm. I wonder how many more of us use a pseudonym in place of our regular nick to deposit submissions into the Great Repository That Is Lit? And... why?

Cym.. I think that limerick wasnt quite as terrible as first thought you know...

I used Beaker because they were poems about people here... Cheffie has more than one on the site.

Seriously though give me your feedback... I would be interested... just leave it here or something...

~grins wolfishly~
You'd be surprised.

I'm easily suprised, i think that's been established. However, you? Multi-nicked? Never, ever offering surprises.

Hey, I never said I was multi-nicked.
Wait, maybe that should be, I never said I was multi-nicked.

Well, both sound right to me.. I hate that.

And one more time for this crop o' newbies...

~yet another bump~

Thanks for this cymbidia :)
and KillerMuffin, reading all the poetry in there! WOW There are some fantastic poems!

I write poetry as well as stories and enjoy writing them both.

I submitted one a while ago. Well, I like it. LOL Even though there are only three votes on it. *shrugs* Oh well. Poetry is not for everyone. Even me, really.

The only things I submit here on Lit. is poetry...under crystalhunting...non-erotic and erotic..

CH

I had one story and one poem showing up today. I've been getting gooood feedback on the story all day. But only one on the poem...that tells me what?

Either they like my story or my poem sucks????? lol

Or no one reads poetry....

The devil you read it one way and the devil you read it the other.
