I think it's absolutely foolish to speak empirically on the subject. These feelings are about as subjective as anything could ever be.

Of course. Personally, I didn't for one minute think that anyone was speaking "empirically" on the subject.
I always assume in threads such as this that posters give opinions based on their own experiences. Perhaps even exclusively in reaction to past experiences.

We all speak as we find.

Sure. I'm just loosely aware of how I passively come off as condescending. So, I didn't want anyone to think I was criticizing their personal perspective/feelings on the topic. It was meant as a disclaimer for my comment, not a criticism of something that had been said earlier on.

The only empirical thing I can say is that, a for some people at least online love is very much possible, as is loving multiple people at the same time.

They may not be true for everyone, but they are possible.

ok.. I just worked 9 shifts in a row and so I'm super tired.. and am probably going a little off the deep end.. but here goes..

I kind of see love as this state where another person fulfills me so much that I want nothing more than to give freely in return. I don't always see it as an ongoing relationship - and I don't think it really needs to be. I've had times in my life where a patient has brought me such joy that I've done everything in my power to nurture her while she was in my care. During our time together, there really isn't another word to express our mutual relationship other than love.

When the thought of another person makes you smile
When your day is interrupted by an emotional vision that creates reason to pause
When your desire to realize your own potential just so that you can help another

What is it, if not love?

I think that we sometimes get so busy looking for love that we forget to embrace those moments...
and if we overlook those moments, we risk the chance to experience love.

I love to love.
I've loved online, offline.. I've even colored outside the line

I'm babbling.
People who love me already know.. it's something I do.

Makes sense. FWIW I didn't think you need the disclaimer - we're all entitled to an opinion.
