Thanks. One thing I wondered is, do several ebooks for sale ever all have the same cover? In other words, after I purchase a cover, can another author come right behind me and buy the same cover for their book?

Not the exact same cover (because it has your distinct title and name on it), but they can--and do--use the same purchased cover image, yes. Often there are different treatments of the image for the cover, but sometimes they are almost identical.

Fake covers for fake books. Where have I seen that before.

Some people just have to look like they have a clue sometimes. aeven when they don't.

If you've looked through as many stock photos as I have over the last couple of years you will start to recognize them on e-book sites and I have seen the same pair of girls on about 5 covers so far.

But to add to what Pilot said. Your title and font and author name make it different

as an aside Not only same cover but title as well crops up a lot. When I went to add one of my books to my author page on amazon I found 3 books with the same title so I went and changed it, but that happens a lot even on lit with titles.
