We had 90mm. AA guns, which were nothing compared to sitting in a quad mount with four 50s going at 2m per minute. No earplugs in those days. That must have been some kind of load.

I understand bob. I'm suprised you have any hearing left at all.
& I used to get into trouble all the time for not wearing my ear plugs when shootin the howitzers, yrs ago. I wanted to be sure got the correct coordinants off the radio & what not.

Its Monday morning 7.50am ,and the winds have gone.If you get it on the news over there it was pretty bad .Trains into London were stopped people have been killed ( inc 3 children). Thank god we we trimmed down a tree in the garden in time otherwise that might have blown over too.
