Would someone be so kind to give me a little advice here. I just got this semi-odd piece of feedback. Concerning not my writing, but me.

concerning the disclaimer in your story about ignoring feedback, you seem to ignore ALL feedback, regardless of whether it is good or not...just so you know, it is polite to acknowledge people when they give you compliments else they choose not to in the future
When getting "U sux so baaaad!" -mail I tend to ignore them, but this one is polite, friendly and seems sincere. Here it seems that someone (anonymous at that) truly feels ignored. So now I'm trying to figure out who I might have neglected to respond too.

Am I supposed to post a public thank you in the PCs for favorable comments? I tend to reply to mail feedback, (Unless it says "U sux so baaaad!") but one or two non-troll ones might have slipped by. Should I hang my head in shame and repent? What's the deal?

Just curious

I rarely send feedback since it would generally be along the lines of "Hey, liked your story" or "Oh come on! I could have written better than that!" but I never expect a reply. Actually, I think Colly might have been the only person to reply to a feedback e-mail I sent back when I was still just lurking on the board. It's always nice to get one, but I never expect it. I definitely wouldn't expect a reply to the public comments, but maybe I'm the only one.

I honestly don't know what the deal is. All the times I have sent feedback to other authors, I have never onced received a reply. I didn't really expect to, and don't feel ignored.

I do reply to feedback I receive though, except the usual kooky ones who want to be my master and outline our possible online relationship. :D

Sometimes the reader leaves the wrong email address, and I don't know if this is deliberate, but if not, I hope they don't think I am ignoring them.

There is nothing much you can do about this particular person though. I don't think I would leave a pc for them.

Alternatively, it could be someone messing with your mind.

:D

Lin,

I would ignore it. It is polite, but since it is annon you can't possibly do anything to appease this reader. I would only say that if appears to be a possiblity that you failed to reply to a sincere feedback. On the other hand I often get annon feedback where the writer asks questions, I guess not realizing I cannot respond. I would guess that this may be the case here.

So sweet! Noone have hit on me yet. I need to write some raunchier stuff like yours maybe. :D I'm sooo vanilla.

You mean I wasn't maxed out on the mess-o-meter already?

If it makes you feel any better, I never get any of the "I came so hard" comments everyone seems to get. Not a single one.

McKenna: "Should a person expect feedback for feedback?!" WTF?!

So what do you do when people email you saying, "now if you get the time, can you read one of my stories (they usually list which one they want you to read), and provide me with feedback"? I'm curious now.
