Understood.
I know some ppl disgaree with me and thats fine. Theres exceptions to every rule or thought process of course.
I am sure I could be persuaded to more one side or another on some issues too.
It saddens and sickens me how much gun culture is prevalent in this country.
I have shot guns. Handguns, rifles, shotguns. Fun as hell for sure.
I am not a hunter and dont really believe in it much but thats a diff story and yes I have plenty of caveats with that one.
I dont see a need to own many guns.
I certainly dont see a need to carry one with you at all times.
I absolutely am sickened, saddened and worried about our future since a mass shooting happens multiple times a week in this country.
So when I compare some of those issues and rules and stats and things with Japan. Germany. Australia. England. Canada. France. Italy. India. China...and other large countries, popular countries, historic countries that generally arent actively in wars (unlike say...Israel, Iraq, Russia etc), I just weep. I envy. I know it wont really change here.

I steer clear of politics regardless of whether I agree or not. I've lost my desire for that. I used to be very argumentative but realized I gained nothing from it... Loving people is more beneficial.

Not judging anyone else if they enjoy it, to be clear!!

I dont want to argue with ppl but I just shake my head and want to scream when I see misinformation shared as truth.

I've glanced at the political threads here on lit and it reminds me of me about 10 years ago. Not ever going back to that version of me.

Being passionate about one's belief is a great thing. What I struggle with is when people of any political spectrum resort to name calling and insults. It doesn't need to be a clobbering of each other. There's something very beautiful about people of two different beliefs who can actually carry on a well thought out and thought-provoking debate.

Has anyone seen The Phoenician Scheme yet?
Very mixed revfiews and I love Wes Anderson so I wasnt sure how it was.
I’m planning to, but it all depends on the screening schedule in Palermo. It was on last weekend, so fingers crossed they add some more screenings this week.

Grand Budapest was my fave of his more recent ones. What did you think of The French Dispatch?
Personally, I thought The French Dispatch was great, but I have a very personal connection to The New Yorker and the village of Angouleme where it was filmed, so I am 100% biased there. Still, it’s a great film with an exceptional cast.

Greetings all. Long, hot (as in unpleasantly warm, not sexy) days here. Takes a bit to catch up, but worth it.

I plan on doing the kit test but I'm a relatively new friend and quite certain I will finish dead last, so you all should go for it because at least you won't be last.

Anderson is kind of hit and miss for me too. Haven't seen Phoenician yet. I actually think Darjeeling is my favorite of the ones I have seen.

Glad to know you are safe Kit. I have no doubts about your ability to be sufficient and strong in such situations but merely the reality that you aren't white and in the LA area worried me a bit.

Labor day is a rough one for a teacher but that sounds like a blast. And within driving range. Hmmm.

And my birthday is next Friday, so apparently there is a few of us in the same range. June KitKat fans.
