Like Father, Like Daughter

How would you like to live life where everyone knows your business? ... How would you like people to discount you as a human being because you're rich and famous? How would you like to have to be constantly measured against your sisters, Chelsea Clinton, and the irreproachable Kennedy kids and constantly fall short?

You forgot the constant paranoia of looking over your shoulder for the kidnappers and assassins.

Siren,

being messed up doen't mean escaping the consequences of breaking the law. Being the president's daughter, admittedly, often does.

Personally, I think I'd prefer a homeless shelter to the kind of spotlight Jenna Bush and her sister live in. Hopefully I'll never have to make that choice for real though.

From what I understand...

...the storekeeper reported them to the police. In UK if they tried it on they'd just be refused serice. Is the storekeeper to blame for all this fuss?

Interesting how some people cant have a debate without making it a personal attack

:p

Actually, it was your dehumanizing attitude that did it, Siren. You turned someone from a human being into some fairytale creature whose undeserving of understanding.

I didn't mean to attack you. I just meant to make you understand that everyone feels pain and everyone suffers. It doesn't matter what kind of cash, fame, or fairystory lifestyle everyone thinks you have.

I think it's a lost cause. You're discompassionate.

Thank you Lavender, that was very sweet and

:p

I have no idea what siren does for a living other than that she's a fine lawyer.

I do know that she made an assumption about someone based totally on media bias, politics, and her views of the person's parents. Or is La Siren's assumption perfectly okay to make? Because she's such a boon to humanity?

Siren isn't above any of us. She may act as though she is because her politics are superior to my politics.

No assumptions about marriage, profession, or life were ever actually made about Siren, only implied for the purpose of making a point. My point wasn't getting across at all.

My point was this, and this only. Assumptions hurts people. Discrimination hurts people. Judgementalism hurts people. I made my point by making false assumptions and asking some questions pertaining to my own opposite assumptions of another person.

Siren has compassion for Endlessly (who should never have been brought into this, you are correct), she has compassion for poor people, she has compassion for the homeless, she has compassion for people with a justifiable, in her eyes, excuse for being in pain. She just doesn't have compassion for everyone. No one said she had to either. Understanding basic human nature and understanding that everyone is human is not a prerequisite to being human, it is, in fact, at odds with humanity.

I think everyone is too quick to condemn President Bush's Daughter, because she's President Bush's Daughter. Jenna Bush is a non-entity here. She's not herself in this thread. Jenna Bush has no persona of her own. She is only President Bush's Daughter. Like WH said, I'd rather be homeless than to be her. And yes, I live below the poverty level. I know what poor is, I know what suffering is, and I know what pain is. I also know that my suffering doesn't invalidate anyone else's suffering.

Obviously you have issues about me.,....just let it go

:p

You want to think badly of me KM, go ahead. I know what I am, and more importantly, those truly in my life know what I am. I dont think you will ever understand that, nor do you want to. You have decided that I am all these awful qualities, that perhaps you possess some of yourself.

Too bad you feel such jealousy and envy towards me. I earned whatever I have in life, I grabbed it and believe me, I struggled to get it....And I am proud of who I am and the things I do for me, my family and others.

Sad that you feel such resentment.

You irritate me Siren. I'm not jealous, resentful, or envious toward you. I wouldn't want your life. I wouldn't know what to do with your life if I had it, and I would probably botch it badly. You wouldn't want mine, either. You would do just as badly with mine.

Remind me to never argue with you again. We disagree fundamentally on lots of things. And the way I argue appears to be "dirty pool" and doesn't seem to breech the gap of understanding. I put you on the defensive instead of illustrating what I was trying to say.

*sigh*

I can't type when I'm having episodes. This is me being me when I'm tired and grumpy and being patronized.

We all agree that Jenna has problems. My solution is tough love. The law should help her not send her out to get hurt again. Her parents need to practice the same thing.

Is there any possible way that Jenna Bush can get help for her problems without the media making a circus out of it?

No matter what the result of the investigation into the current allegations result in, someone is going to cry either "it's all a cover-up" or "She's being punished for being the president's daughter."

The latter is certainly true no matter what happens.

If the headlines read "anonymous college student caught trying to use another's ID to buy alcohol!" would anyone read it? Would anyone comment on the laxity of the punishment if they did read it?

Okay.

Anyway, I went back and re-read everything I wrote in that one inflammatory post of mine. Other than a snide remark about how good of a litigator you are, I don't see how I personally attacked you that badly. I honestly fail to see all of those personal attacks.

Maybe these will help you

:p

Re: Maybe these will help you

Oh, I forget, you can't feel pain, you're financially well off. You have no idea what it's like to suffer, you're a lawyer, you have money. Meant as an example, not as a personal attack. I know you're human, like the rest of us.

Your hypocrasy, bad manners, snobbery, judgementalism, and all in all holier-than-thouness is showing Siren.

How would you like wondering if Wolfy loved you for yourself or your cash? Meant as an example, not as a personal attack. Anyone with less than no brain knows that Wolfy loves you.

You have no compassion in you for anyone who is what you would consider "better off" than you are. You're a good litigator aren't you. Nevermind humanity, it's all about what they have and you don't.

or these:

I think it's a lost cause. You're discompassionate.

Or is La Siren's assumption perfectly okay to make? Because she's such a boon to humanity?

Siren isn't above any of us. She may act as though she is because her politics are superior to my politics.

The rest... is bad. I was wrong. I do, sincerely apologize to you.

As someone who lives in Fort Worth & knows kids at TCU & UTA, back to the subject at hand. Jenna thrives on public attention. She loves to make an entrance at restaurants & clubs. She likes to be seen & be out in the public eye. When she was in Fort Worth earlier this year, she made sure that everyone at TCU knew she was in town & she doesn't even go to TCU, she just comes up to party with the Frat boys. She knows that having an escort of Secret Service agents makes her stand out among the other kids & she is loving it. Chelsea Clinton was treated very badly by the press & she was a lot younger than Jenna is. It is just a sad fact of life that the children of famous people inevitably end up in the spotlight.
