that should be fun :)

Amazeing and digusting numbers for Ruby Tuesday (if i ever see one, i don't think i want to eat there)

There's enough in 1 meal there for a week! (except in nutrients)

Here's a thought...eat whatever you want and then, you know maybe like exercise or something.

It's amazing what a good run will take care of. Or some time on a treadmill.
Or a rowing machine.
Or some free weights
Or a Nautilus.
Or a few laps in a pool.
Or, heaven forbid a little hard work.

Just because a place sells food that high in calories or even in fat or cholesterol doesn't mean they should be put down. It means that you should eat and work it off or eat in moderation or just don't go.
What is the point of this thread anyway? To show off the ability to google? To piss and moan about what you can't eat because you're not willing to do what it takes in order to eat something pleasurable without consequences?

I just took this off of Ruby Tuesday's web site...

its crazy! O.O who would actually eat that food?! thats more than a days worth of calories at one sitting?!

Considering that my daily caloric intake is anywhere between 2500- 3500...

I have eaten that food, and will again. And their appletinis rock.

Tonight's dinner is Burger King, a whopper Jr. w/ cheese, King sized meal with a regular coke.

I work off every calorie I eat- THAT's how you can eat things like that and stay healthy.

I've never eaten at Ruby Tuesday's, but judging by the ads (either there's one here in the Bay Area, or I've traveled to a city that has one) and that menu DP posted, it's about the same as any other "casual dining" restaurant chain - e.g. Chili's, TGI Friday's, Fuddrucker's, Red Robin, etc...it's all about humongous entrees, burgers, and sandwiches, with ginormous sides of fries or other deep-fried shit. And don't forget the hugely calorie-laden desserts (although I'm usually way too full from the dinner to bother with dessert if I eat at one of those places).

It's a nice treat once in a while, but that's the key. ONCE IN A WHILE. NOT EVERY DAY. Not even every week. It's probably not a bad idea to let a few of the fries stay on your plate, or just order a salad. I figure even butter or ranch-drenched veggies have to be slightly better than deep-fried meat or veggies. And they'll probably leave off the ranch dressing or whatever if you ask them.

I have my own built-in moderation mechanism- drinking too many refills of Diet Coke (or even normal Coke) and too much fried stuff makes me need to use the toilet very badly and explosively, within about 30 min of finishing my meal. It kind of spoils the whole "eating out" experience.

Probably should watch out for all that fat, though, even if you work it off. High fat and cholesterol increase your cancer and heart disease risk. My dad had a heart attack at 57, even though he was in tremendous shape from running for decades. Luckily, his heart developed enough of those little capillaries that you get from exercising that they actually saved him when his aorta was 100% blocked.

But anyway, congrats on the active lifestyle- I know I should work out more, since when I was a senior in college, I ate whatever the hell I wanted and drank a LOT of beer, and still stayed fairly thin from working out every day.
