So how do you decorate the outside of your house for Christmas?

Tacky? Pretty?

Just lights really...the inside is fancier.

I pull all my blow up dolls out of the closet and dress them up in Santa suits... place them strategically on the room and toss condoms at passers-by.

I have one of those pretty houses with all the lights, the window displays, the lawn is covered with wooden cutouts of Santa and his sleigh.

I'm a sucker for Christmas.

Seconded. There's a house down our road that looks like it's got airport guiding lights on it, it's so bright. Absolutely hideous and tacky. Some lights outside is okay I guess, but inflatable Father Christmas's? And don't get me started on those big flashing lights.

So true, but the kids absolutely love seeing houses like that! When I'm driving somewhere with them after dark they look out for the brightly decorated houses (not that they'd miss them!), and they get so excited. Lots of wows and ooohs. So, although I think a lot of them look tacky, I think they are a good thing, because all the kids really appreciate it - it adds to their Christmas, so it's a good thing.

I don't decorate the outside of my own house, but if I did I would just put up some subtle white lights around the windows, or something.

ive never seen myself as pretentious, so im left with just tasteless.

only one string of lights on the hedges this year and a wreathe on the side of the house.

it is fun to drive around and see just how much work some people put into the season. never have been one for the blow up creatures though.. thats a bit scary to me.

White lights tracing the roofline in the front and around the porch. Then small wreaths on every window and a larger wreath on the front door, all with gold bows.

My house is probablly what would be called a cottage. Small house with a porch running across the front. Its bright blue with bright yellow trim so the gold bows look pretty good.

I don't think it too tacky or tasteless. But then again, I painted my house blue and yellow so what do I know.

My house is a blinding yellow so I think you've got great taste. And no lights on ours - we don't have any outdoor eletric outlets.
