I don't mean as a religious renunciation or anything, I mean just not having that in your nature.

The Drax are humanoid in general shape, but reproduce asexually. (And spontaneously -- Jerry gets preggo at the most inconvenient and dangerous time imaginable. He dies in childbirth -- I use the male pronoun because to the extent Drax resemble humans, they look more like men than women.)

Just imagine what a world like that would be like.

There are no marriages -- which means no families as we understand them. Family trees might fork, but there are never any sideways connections. The networks of interrelated families that are the basis of human societies do not exist.

There is no concept of sexual morality or immorality. If the Drax have a traditional list of deadly sins, lust is not on it. If they have religious ascetics, celibacy is not among their renunciations. Sex CRIMES are unheard of. So is adultery.

There are no sex-related businesses, no prostitutes or pole dancers or porn stars. There is not even any fashion or cosmetics industry, unless Drax like to ornament themselves for purely esthetic purposes.

If you were to show Drax human pornography -- or even romantic comedy -- their reaction would be, "WOW! This sex thing makes humans act CRAZY!"

And what human could gainsay that?

I think you might be overstating the importance of sex.

Marriage isn't (just) about sex. It has historically been a way to create connections and provide assurances in volatile societies. There could be plenty of reasons for marriage to still exist as an institution in a world without sex.

Fashion and cosmetics could also easily play a role without sex. You would still want to make a good/specific impression to influence how other people see you - and ultimately influence how they treat you. It could be used to convey other aspects than sexual desirability.

Quite a honest & authentic reflection @LoneMilf! Don't mind the stupid naysayers though.
