I had my priorities and my wish list made blatantly clear for me today.
My five year old son was hit by a drunk driver on his way home from school, my eleven year old son witnessed this. Both of them and my family as a whole are in shock but we are all in one piece and together for Christmas. We may not have been so fortunate.
He is gonna be okay but i was so scared that it wasn't going to turn out that way.
I have the only gift that i want and truly cherish. My son is gonna be fine, BOTH of them and i get to spend more time with them.

Merry Christmas from my family to yours. .

 My gawd Joey! How fast was the guy going and is your son okay? Anything broken? Did he have to be taken to the hospital? And how is your older son doing? Is he okay?

And was it hit-and-run or did they catch the bastard?

Sending good thoughts your way. I'm so glad everyone is well and safe.

Cherish your family, Joey. Mine was taken from me and I still feel the loss after four years. I know I always will.

An angel was looking out for your son. Believe in that.

Merry Christmas and I wish you and yours safety, love, and continued protection.

He was going 50km/hr when he hit my son. Yes the ambulance and police came and took my little guy to hospital. No broken bones thankfully, bruises and some concern about his kidney ..the guy was stopped, basically by the people that witnessed the accident, many folks around after school on a friday and the driver is being charged.
Thanks for your thoughts.. :rose:

I believe in angels, more now than before..thanks and im sorry for your loss :rose:

Oh, my stomach dropped when I read this post, Joey!

What wonderful luck that he is okay.

One day, hit-and-run will be considered murder, not merely manslaughter.

Thanks Stella..yeah someone was watching over my boy tonight. For that i am gratefull with my entire being.

Joey love, I'm so sorry to hear this news.
I hope the little guy is going to be okay and that this won't spoil his Christmas or your other son's as well.

Give them both gentle hugs from Auntie Abs....and one for Dad as well. :rose:

*hugs* Oh Joey, that is every parents nightmare -I am so glad he's doing okay*hugs some more*

Have a wonderful christmas, darlin'

Joey, wonderfully pleased to hear that little man is gonna be all right...

I can sympathize...it's less than six months since I had to hear that my daughter had been taken to Children's Hospital with a "disfiguring injury" and then had to sit through the *anything can happen* talk before her surgery...everything is fine now and the loss of motion in her arm is less than five percent...but I remember that feeling in the pit of my stomach very well.

incredibly thankful that he is ok....*husg* man...wow...

Joey -

What frightening news! Makes me hold my own children a bit closer tonight.

I'm very glad your sons will be fine, glad the driver was caught, glad that you'll be able to spend some time with your boys.

Take care of yourself too - you need some TLC after such a scary event.

Merry Christmas.

Amen to that :rose:

May we all be protected by angels. Goddess knows we need it.

This is all the motivation I need to pull my daughter closer and keep her safe with me - if only for now.

OMG! These sort of things just make me cringe in horror.

My son is my only child, and also the only family namesake. If he doesn't produce a male child, the family name is kaput. I realize that's an unfair burden to place on him, but it's not as though the burden is without family support. But that isn't the point - My son is already 'of age', and though that's hardly much solace, at least I got past the days of him careening into the street without looking both ways and all the other things that kids do before they're 'old enough to know better'. Everyone who's had a kid knows that it's just an inattentive or drunk driver that's between a good future for your kid or not. You can do everything 'right' that you can, and still things beyond your control (or anyone's) can mess you up.

As hard and confusing as it can be, I think all we can do is try to love them as best as we can, every day. That's not easy to do.

Damn...luck, angels watching over...whatever it was I so happy to hear everyone is okay. In a weird way this was a very special Christmas present for you.
*hugs*

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and good wishes.. I am grateful that my sons are going to be fine and to have a happy christmas with them and im gratefull for my friends here at it.

1. Yikes!
2. Phew!
3. Enjoy the Christmas. :)

You and your family have already got the best Christmas present ever, but I hope the rest of your holiday will be merry and bright, and the only flashing red light in sight will be the one on the end of Rudolph's nose. :rose:

I'm glad he's okay, joey.

A drunk in a car is as bad as nutter with a loaded gun. 'Tis the season to be jolly- it is never the season to drink and drive.

Never miss a day of your kids life, it's precious.

I am so sorry, Joey! *Hugs* :rose: I am glad, however, to hear that both of your boys are safe and sound and that the driver was caught. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
