A couple months ago I posted this thread about an old man and his dog.

This morning on my drive into work it was just past dawn. I might add that today was one of the most beautiful sunrises I've seen in a very long time. The sky was bright with pinks and oranges as the first rays of sunlight danced among the high whispy clouds that filled the early morning sky. The whole world seemed to glow with a brightness of rose, like the sun decided to wake up and slip on rose colored glasses for everyone everywhere.

I came around the same corner where I always saw the old man and his dog walking, and where I saw him sitting on the curb that fateful morning. I had not seen the man since. Today there he was. Walking at a bit of a quicker pace, being pulled by a rambuctious young pup. From my passing glance it looked much like a chocolate lab puppy probably just at a year old. Big feet and floppy ears trying to sniff everything in sight. It was a wonderful sight.

I just wanted to share. :)

Good for him..... I remember that story... you did well that day, helping that man....

:)

Dawgie, I missed the story first time around, that was just beautiful.

Thank you for sharing your heart.

Thanks

I missed that the first time around too.
I needed the lift today.

I missed the original thread. Now, I'm sitting here with tears running down my cheeks. Life does move on though.

Thank you, Dawg.

I, too, lost a huge, wonderful, loving Golden after 13 years. It's been 7, but I still cry when I think of him. And, like this man, I had someone come along to help me with him - someone like you.

I'm sure this man thinks of you and your kindness often. You were there for a very important event in his life. I hope you get a chance to wave at him one day soon - just to let him know you've seen him and his new puppy.

I'm glad you got to see a "happy ending" and I'm thrilled you shared it with us.

I have a Golden. He is the best! His name is womack. My dad won the money for him at a Casino in Colorado!

Hes the best dog, I would hate to lose him. When he goes it will be like loosing a member of the family.

Thank, Dawg, for bringing attention to your former thread (which I had totally missed). Your actions are so touching, and I can only imagine the feeling you had when you noticed that new puppy!

Love is healing and life is amazing!:rose:

Thank you all for your comments. It was a welcome and wonderful sight to see the man and puppy this morning. For those of you with dogs, or who may be between dogs and are true dog people, I highly recommend this book:

Dog's Never Lie About Love by Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson

It has wonderful insight into the emotional lives of dogs, and ho they intricately weave into the lives of the people lucky enough to live with them.

I remember the original thread.

It is so cool to know that the old man has another companion. :)

that is such good news. love is a floppy puppy.
