You been lied to? Of course you have.

Someone says they love you? But they don't.

Someone says that something is in the mail. But it isn't.

Someone says that they have one thing. But they don't, they have another.

What's your story?

Ishmael

It's the little lies that make me mad.

It's saying that you called when you couldn't have.

It's saying that you were out with your mom when I was shopping with her.

It's the pointless lies that have no motivation but to deceive.

At least the big lies, while hurtful, one can understand why the other person would have wanted to keep it from you.

Someone told me that they didnt do drugs of any kind..... Lie #1

Someone told me that they loved me Lie #2

Someone told me thet didnt have a criminal past Big Lie #3

Someone told me they have never cheated on their ex spouse Lie #4

Someone told me they havent been with anyone else besides me( and the ex wife) Lie #5

This someone couldnt tell the truth if it slap them in the face.......

This is my story. :(

I don't believe anyone who says they've never lied.

I also think omission can be a form of lying.

If I'm lied to....and the truth is not something I really need to know....don't tell me.

But if it's a trivial lie just to make you look good in my eyes, or to make me feel good....don't bother lying....the honest view is much more desirable.

Lying has its place....rarely.

:rose:

most recent lie told to me that I know of?

Cutesy Sales Manager: Oh! Don't worry, we're really customer service oriented! Your lack of sales experience won't matter at all!

outcome: Sorry, Nora. They declined to promote you because they felt you didn't have the required sales experience.

The little lies pile up. In that case it's not so much the lie as the rationalization. It's indicative of the thought process.

The "big" lies are self explanatory.

The biggest internet lie ... the sequel

I've left my wife and i'm getting a divorce or am divorced.Which is usually followed by....I have to stop by the house for the kids sake. Then the ever present she came over and wants me back....Finally topped it off with, well we never really did separate.

That's a knife that can cut both ways Cara.

Besides, why should I stare at your little bitty tits?

A little lie that has to be built upon with further lies to sustain it is no longer little. It was also very poorly done in the first place if it was not self-limiting.

If you're going to lie do it right for goodness sake!

Weed, I, uh, well... lied to you... I didn't really win an Olympic gold medal... I said that just to make myself look good... it was really only a bronze medal...

Now that I've been honest with you, do you find me desirable? :p

That's where the rationalization process comes in. Right?

No, no, not at all... every time I see your AV I forget all about literature and just think erotic thoughts... :D

Depends who he/she is lying to. When does the extended lie of little lies become a lie to oneself? Why are the extra little lies necessary? Either not thought out well in the first place or the person already knows(no rationalization there just desperation) or is trying to convince their own self. The only rationalization, I think, is often just to convince oneself that the lie was ok in the first place rather than 'fessing up.

While we may say we want honesty, little white lies are part of the fabric that holds society and relationships together. Just ask any boyfriend or husband who has given an honest answer to:

What do you think of my new haircut?

How does this dress look on me?

Do I look fat in these jeans?

What I would ask is how they answered the question. I think many times these kinds of truths can be told with tact and consideration.

The occasional little white lie is pretty harmless in my book but when it becomes habit it speaks of flaws either in character or the relationship.

The weave can be complicated.

Obviously your monitor is too small. :D

Still love the av, Cara. Is there a line for touching them, and where does it end so I can get in? ;)
