Morning All,

I have just had an ebook published, it's my first and I was wondering whether or not it's acceptable to paste the link to it on here?

Daddy always insisted on manners ;)

periodically, external links in posts get canned that surprise me. however, there's nothing at all wrong with putting a link in your profile signature.

congratulations!

There is a thread specifically for this here.

It is also okay for you to have a link in your signature for the book as well. The site does not really consider an amazon or smashwords link an issue.

Congrats on your book!

Thanks guys ... it's attached to my signature now and I will drop by the above link also ... besitos chicos

You'll probably do better if you make it into a text link so people would know what the link is for.

To do so, go back into your signature and copy the url of your ebook. Then click the
createlink.gif
button. Paste the URL into the pop-up box, click OK, then replace the highlighted text with the text you want people to see.

If your book has cover art, you can also put a reasonably-sized version of it in your sig, highlight the image code, then make that pic a link as well.

There are detailed instructions for this stuff in our FAQ sticky at the top of the main How To page, and I'd suggest heading over to the Authors Hangout to check out how other authors advertise their e-books.

Developing a good readership by posting stories on Lit will help you promote your book(s). :)

Thanks Erika, that was even greater help.

I've just submitted my second book so this time I'll know what I'm doing here.
