i've also decided to use this thread as a bit of a food diary for myself. If i have to report to everyone what i'm eating, it will encourage me to eat better.

Wellbutrin. ;)

I've lost twenty pounds since Christmas without any work in my part. That's the kind of diet I like!

I've lost quite a bit of weight since October. Not saying I've done it the most healthy way, divorce and working too much. But it is coming off rather nicely. :rose:

Take your vitamins, sweetie. Don't make yourself sick. :)

I had similar results with Lexapro. Made me so sleepy though that I was unsafe driving though.

I suppose healthy weight loss is a better alternative. Just a lot more work. :D

I lost about 40 with my divorce a couple of years ago. Gained all but fifteen of it back the following year. Depression is funny. Sometimes you lose your appetite, and sometimes you can't stop eating.

There has to be a happy medium. I can't seem to find it though.

Eat whatever you want but less of it.

Serve your food on small plates instead of large platters.

If you have a craving, give in to it but only a taste to satisfy.

Drink water. If you are hungry at bedtime have a glass of water. It will hold you over nicely. We are grossly dehydrated in this country.

Don't go to 'all you can eat' restaurants.

i'm on Lexapro now, it doesn't help me with weightloss. i just need to do some old fashioned hard work and better eating habits.

Isn't it interesting how the same medication can affect people so differently?

Great tips Paige. :)

I know what you mean about the all-you-can eat restaurants. America is soooo bad for us.

I found the weight you guys lost. Let me know where to send it and I'll gladly return it!

I(t might have done that when i was younger but i am just shy of 40 now. Weight loss is 100 times harder to make happen now, then it used to be.

I agree. I'm 58, with a bad back and arthritis in my knee. There are some things that I know work. Richard Simmons 'move and lose' thingy works and that's what I'm trying to get back to. Nutri-system also works but it can be expensive and the food has a high sodium content. I also used the Richard Simmons exercise CD's. One year a friend and I set a goal that when summer came we would be able to wear the same summer clothes. At the end of the school year we had both lost about 30 pounds just trying not to gain. I guess it's just a matter of finding out what works for you.

Yeah if i had the money, i'd do the nutra system for a few months to get jump started. i've got arthritis too, everywhere. i might try water areobics at the local YMCA.

A former student sent this to me. She's going through the same thing.

One thing i refuse to do is weigh myself. i am not going for pounds lost really. Maybe in time, i will weigh myself after i know i've really lost some but now i'm going for how i look and how my clothes fit.

That's exactly what I do! I pick something I can't quite fit into and when I feel like eating something I shouldn't I try the dress on. I also try it on every morning. Behold one day it fits! Then I pick something else that doesn't quite fit........and so it goes.

i'd settle for losing 20 pounds and toning up. After i reach that 20, i will set my goal for another 10. i'm going to take it in little goals. i will say, overall, i need to lose 40 to 50 pounds. :)

That sounds like a good plan. I'd be happy to be able to wear clothes I bought for spring last year and never wore.
