Bill Moyers has an interesting sidelight to the recent Republican Retreat where "Obama faced the Lions of Congress in their Den".

I'd laugh but it's too true.:(

And for those who think that the Republicans are the sole party of corporate greed, I put forth the fate of the proposed tax on soft drinks. The Dems ran away from that one so fast it's comical once the industry leaned on them.

No, corporate power is not limited to one side of the aisle. Never has been. And while there are certainly corporations and issues where they may haunt one side of the aisle over another, there are many more who pay equal attention to both.

The recent problems in getting actual true health care reform passed have been largely with dissenting democrats who are being played with by lobbyists. With a super-majority still in place for a while longer, if all the Dems were to get in lockstep behind Obama, it would be done, and quickly. But the insurance companies don't play only one side of the street.

The difference that I see in the past 10-15 years, at least, and especially in the last five is in the willingness to not merely take an obviously one-sided view of an issue, which is common in all walks of life.

I mean, when you go to your boss for a raise, isn't every tiny defect in your performance going to be brought up? And when he/she needs something from you, isn't he/she going to praise you to high heaven? Yes and yes. And yet, your performance is neither extreme.

No, the difference is in the willingness to out and out lie, to place any semblance of public service behind personal gain.

For example, calling for the resignation of one person who uses a word while vigorously defending another for using the exact same word about the exact same group of people, simply because public figure #2 is on your side of the divide.

Two players is a conspiracy.

When I see Clinton and Poppy Bush hanging out together I just know they play for the same team. If it was me I'd be trying to slip a shiv in the other guy's ribs NOT sharing barbecue.

Realizing that you would balk at any attempt to educate you, I refrain and simply offer a few ideas that may gel in ur noggin.

When Congress wanted a Navy, every shipbuilder on the coast and every inlet sent a representative to George Washington to plead their cases.

When Congress authorized funds for the White House, every carpenter and stone mason in the Colonies sent representatives to Washington to plead their case.

One might even, with a stretch of the imagination, call these 'representatives' lobbyists for their companies or for themselves, eh?

The real problem emerges when the Federal Government, now employing over two million people, and spending a hefty percentage of the income of every citizen, begins to think that they, Congress and the Government, are the key players.

They are not.

The People are.

Abolish 90% of government, you solve 90% of the problems.

Oh, and yes, Bill Moyers of PBS is a long time shill for the left and since the left is hell bent to destroy our form of government, Moyers can equally diss both Parties without corrupting his politics....
