Let your partner see?

Hi all

I'm writing a story about how I felt about my partner before we got together - which is pure lust!

I know he doesn't read stories like this, and I also know that he doesn't know I'm writing it.
Should I let him know? And should I let him read it???

Anyone out there been in a similar situation? What did you do, and how did it go?

Appreciate any advice on this!

It depends on the guy...how open-minded he is.

My SO loves the fact that I write stories about him. Some may not.

As Cloudy says - it very much depends on the guy. If he's easily shocked and wouldn't ever dream of reading an erotic story - then he'll probably be very taken aback, if not horrified. You know him best, so its up to you to make the judgement!

My ex loved my stuff too. Well he did until i wrote a scathing story about the end of our relationship. He didn't like that at all...

My chap knows I write, has read some of my stories and doesn't appear to have a problem with them - he thinks it's funny and teases me about being a porn queen etc <rolls eyes>
I was a bit nervous about telling him, in case he took it wrong, but I'm crap at hiding stuff and keeping secrets, so I just made it very matter of fact and he took it fine. I knew he was open-minded though and used porn himself, so I wasn't too worried about him freaking out.

He also gets a gleam in his eye (or a worried look if he's tired!) when he sees me reading other peoples' stories!!! (Literotica is a pretty distinctive site if you know what it looks like!)

Well, i know he doesn't look at porn too often himself, but will happily exchange naughty words with me over msn! (It's a long distance thing, as I'm at uni and he's 200 miles away.)
However, he is quite open minded about... well, just about everything!

ooooh, I don't know... especially as the story is about him! It is quite flattering to him, really, but he does get a bit embarrassed as he doesn't think he's as drop dead gorgeous as I do...
Something to keep pondering, I guess!

I'm inclined to be very secretive about my private life. I've been married for a lot of years and haven't told my husband about Lit. Not that he'd have any sort of problem about what I say. 99% per cent of this stuff he's said to lots of people, including at family picnics! It's my hang-up, not his.

So, I might not be the best person to take advice from, but here's what I'd do in your shoes. Since he doesn't seem to object to the "naughty" emails, why not tell him you wrote a story about him and send it to him? After he reads it, ask if it would be okay to post it here, changing any details necessary to maintain his privacy, of course. Then just go by his reaction.

He'll likely be flattered and turned on and fuck you into the following day. If not, it's probably better to know he feels weird about you expressing sexual thoughts now rather than later.

Not only that, but I no longer allow anyone to see my art or listen to my music. I am just too thin skinned.

No one has seen my art for nearly 8 years. The last time I played any original music for others was 3 years ago. And NO ONE has ever knowingly read my work.

It is my soul. It is me. And I am afraid that others will not like what they see.

Glynndah, actually, i find your advice to be extremely helpful!
It is definitely a good idea. It's just plucking up that courage to tell him initially....
I'm just worried about embarrassing him, rather than him being closed-minded, or negative about erotic writing. He's a little older than me, and used to be an instructor to me and that's when I developed a crush on him, and when this story is set.. He does know about the crush then, but im just worried this story would embarrass him!

Why the apologies? I think it is perfectly acceptable if this is how you feel. For a long time, I did not let anyone see any of my writing either. Now my boyfriend knows, he has read some of my stories, but there are others that I have asked him to stay away from - because they are simply too personal for me to want to share with him. I'm glad he accepts that and it isn't an issue between us. He is the only one that has read my stories in RL, and it's pretty likely that it will remain so.

And he seems to rather like the idea, and even gave me a few suggestions on what to put in it!!

He's not read it yet, but would rather me read it to him when it's all finished... he he, he's SOOOOOOOO not hearing the end!!!
