I had to vote for Drowning Pool, but I must admit that I was torn on that one.

Static-X was good, but their only song that I liked was "Push It". I havn't heard much "Old Staind" (Save for Mud shovel) but I have their new CD. However with "Break the cycle" I am thinking "Sophmore Slump".

As for Disterbed, I LOVE them. They put on a great live show, however, Drowning pool has more energy....

Give me Old School Metal and I'll be happy though... guys in leather pants and hair longer than mine... *swoon*

Come on peeps!

All the bands are good, dont get me wrong, but just listen to them, if you get the chance.

Out of the 3, Disturbed, Drowning Pool, and Static-X, I belive that Static-X has the most power behind them......

When I bought both the Disturbed, and Static-X albums, that was all I listened to for like 3 months, straight!

And I just heard of Savatage a few days ago, by NS. He has one of their cd's, and I must say, they are pretty damn good!

Ravenloft, you bastard!!

You don't like Limp Bizkit??? Knew you were too cool to be true!

Cold

Cold is okay, don't get me wrong, but I just don't think they put on a good live show. They had energy alright, but I've seen better...

Sorry Ren, but sticking cookies up my ass is just not my favorite pass time... Blah...

put me on the staind list............um no i am not staind, i like staind lol...........:p

Am I the only fucker on this board that has voted for Static-X????

Man, do I feel like the odd one here! :D

Okay, Ravenloft. Count me in as one of the delightfully ignorant. I didn't know what you were talking about either, so thank you, Savage Kitten, for asking the question we all wanted to ask! Now I'm off to look for these bands! I voted for Static-X.... I like the name. ;)

YESSSSSSSS!!!!!

I am not alone in the universe!

Give them a listen Myst, you wont be dissapointed!

You rock, Chuckus. I'm going to the Godsmack concert at Six Flags in September.

Why thanks Angel and you do toooooooooo from what we have talked about over time...........

ps to all of you who listen to Savatage, I am a friend of a friend of Zack's (lead singer) and they are very very cool. If you haven't heard em check em out. It is worth it, IMHO.

That Drowning Pool song glued itself to my brain the first time I heard it. Very, very catchy. And I love Static-X. "Bled For Days" is a great song. Makes me want to bounce off the ceiling every time I hear it.

Mmm, I love all the bands mentioned on this thread. :) And how about:

Savatage
Accept
Warlock
Def Leppard (early stuff: High N' Dry is a classic)
Riot
L.A. Guns
Gravity Kills
Stereomud
Monster Magnet
Mind Funk
Skid Row
T.T. Quick
Anthrax

Yep, I like my heavy music. :D

I like, no love that old Accept tune "Balls to the wall" and "Midnight Mover" those dudes kicked arse live.

Skid Row did and so did Anthrax (in the earlier days)

Must resist the temptation....

I like her....can we keep her?

I saw Anthrax with Iron Maiden in '92...kicked ass.

Saw Skid Row last year....kicked ass.

Saw Quiet Riot last month...short set list but they stayed in shape and played their asses off...they care about putting on a good show and they had fun with it.

That, DCL, is what metal is all about...not everything has to be mentally challenging or have a message. I appreciate the arts as much as the next guy...but sometimes it's fun to get LOUD and be a caveman....

Excellent poll, too bad I can't pick one. :p

Staind and Disturbed rock. Korn is good too. Have you heard The Start? Korn got them a recording deal. (na-na-na-naaa, I get to see them Friday)

I'm with you on the Limp Bizkit, way too overplayed around here.

Disturbed is who I voted for.

And why can't you vote on them Kitten eyes?

Staind, I love "Fade".

there are a few up and comming bands that are not getting the attentiont hat they deserve... so I guess I'll name them here ^_^

Breeding Ground
Tea House of the Almighty
Tree
EastCide
Five Year Silence
Mantra
Finger 11
And we can't forget:
The Orange...

Okay... I'm done now... for now

how bout simon says (i was shocked when i found out they were a local sacramento band; kinda like incubus)? guano apes? i like kittie too. i saw them when they were still brand fucking new in canada. got ot see them when i went to visit a friend up north. took me to see them and i was shocked. falon is hot for such a tiny little thing. pod (another club band find) is kool and i am an atheist, so that should say something. incubus is kool, i met them when i went scouting competition and they were still a club band too.

All the bands I listed are from the Mass area... they kick ass too... they played at this show called Locobazooka, for 30 bucks you can see at least 30 bands, and it's an all day show... anyone in the New England area should go. It's sunday September 16 from 10 am to 6 pm at Green fields park in Worchester, MA. www.locobazooka.com is where you can get all the info on it...
