This news arrived to me late. I personally didn’t even know Seattle still had a baseball team. I read the article off another website (sad that I‘m the last one to know about this) I did a search on the story for more info and I have a headache. Just so you know I am a straight male, but I’m not ignorant. I am very accepting to peoples life styles. Unfortunately not everyone is the same.

Sirbrina and a female date where at a Mariners Game and they decided to kiss, just like anyone of us would if we had a date. Well apparently a woman complained to an usher about the kiss. She was worried about how parents would have to explain to their kids why two females were kissing. For the love of Pete it’s not like they were giving each other oral! It’s just a kiss. Here is where my headache kicks in.

"I would be uncomfortable" seeing public displays of affection between lesbians said Jim Ridneour, a 54-year-old taxi driver. "I don't think it's right seeing women kissing in public. If I had my family there, I'd have to explain what's going on."
Source cnn.com

My advice to the parents: If you’re not sure how to explain homosexuality to your kids then maybe you should re-think this whole parenting idea. If you are worried about your kids seeing same sex kissing then don’t take them anywhere public. Lock your kids in the basement, because as long as lesbians have their rights, they wont stop. You have a duty and responsibility to educate your kids in life issues if you can’t do something as simple as that then maybe you shouldn’t have had kids. Oh and Jim here is my advice to you: Don’t look!

I saw a comment by an unregistered user he/she said it best
“This is all painfully obvious, the chic was kissing another chic, it made mommy and daddy uncomfortable when junior said "hey mommy, why is that girl kissing a girl and not a boy?" So instead of explaining diversity to the child, they complain to hide their own embarrassment” That says it all.

Almost 36,000 fans and only 1 complained. That means that 35,999 people had no problem with it. Yet 1 person is all it took to cause all this mess. If only that power could be used for good.

The team says it has a code of conduct, which is announced before each game and highlights public displays of affection that are ``not appropriate in a public, family setting.'' They “Say” they have a code of conduct. I’d like to see the “code” in print please. I know only to well that many business’ tend to lie and make rules up on the spot to the media to simply protect their image. I have been to about 5 baseball games and I have worked at a baseball stadium and I can honestly say I have never heard of that code. You don’t see any signs either, nor is it in the score card, tickets or mini-magazine that they give out. So how are we supposed to know that we can't kiss our girlfriends? . They say they announce it before every game, so unless you arrive an hour before the game begins you will miss the announcement. As you know most fans arrive at the game during the 2nd 3rd or 4th innings. The majority of the fans miss the announcement (if there even was one) Also how early do they make the announcement? Before the first pitch? Before warm-ups? How early do we have to be in order to hear the announcements?

I’ve seen couples kiss at games, infact it‘s become a “fad“ like kissing in the movie theater, but I didn’t complain, because I went there to watch the game not stick my nose where it doesn’t belong. Be adult about it and stop acting like a little 5 year old crying to her mommy because someone ate her cupcake. If we act like adults and teach our kids to be respectful, open minded and accepting to peoples different lifestyles then just maybe the world could be a little more peaceful. I mean why are you teaching kids to reject those that are not like us? Why are you teaching kids to be ignorant?

Seeking Attention or Seeking fair treatment?

I have seen many comments from readers on other websites accusing Sirbrina of being an “attention whore” and wanting to get her second 15 minutes of fame. First of all she is a lesbian, not a “fake lesbian” like Ms. Lohan, but a real lesbian who’s defending her rights. When is this discrimination going to end? First it was African-Americans and now it’s lesbians. When will people learn to accept others as they are? I don’t expect any “straight” people to understand what being gay in America (the so called Land of the free) means. Second she is not getting paid. Lindsay Lohan is going to get paid $1 million for her first interview on her “coming out” story. Yes that has “B.S.“ written all over it, but see Srbrina is not getting a penny for this. So why would anyone go through all this mess? For the same reason we created this website, to defend her rights.

The woman that complained also said that the girls were “making out” and “groping” I had to laugh because out of 36,000 people noone took a picture! If it was a full on Cruel Intentions make out fest then I’m pretty sure someone would have taken a few photos. Sirbrina said in an interview that they were eating garlic fries, their breathe smelled bad and they wouldn’t make out after eating garlic.

If you take a look at our articles you will see that this story isn’t new, girls all over the world are getting in “trouble” for kissing each other. They don’t do it for attention they did it because they care about each other, the only reason why she is getting this much attention is because well 1 she used to be on TV and 2 she’s not taking it laying down and neither did those girls you see in our articles. Sirbrina is no different from them. Frankly I don’t really care why she did it, because the fact remains she got in trouble for it and that is what we defend. The act not the reason. I applaud Sirbrina for not taking it laying down and defending her rights. For Liberty and Justice for all

She is trying to recapture her 15 minutes of fame.

She was eliminated from the 2nd yr (current yr) episode #5 of the MTV show called "A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila".

On the show she thought she was the hottest one there and Tila even said that she was one of the favoritest to win it all.

"Felt that her looks were great, but towards the end Tila started to feel something was lacking between the two of them. However, specific reason for elimination was not stated in episode."

She is obviously stirring things up to recapture her 15 minutes of fame. Don't be surpirsed if you see her in some sort of reality tv show in the future.

Wait stop. She did not grab up some girl take her to a ballgame and kiss her hoping someone would complain.

She is in the news because she complained as well she should have. Since when can a women not kiss another woman? They let a man kiss his girlfriend, many times they will let a man fuck his girlfriend in the stands so long as they are not totally obvious about it.

This isn't a woman trying to get publicity, this is a woman trying to live her life the way she wants to live it. If they won't allow two women kissing each other at the ballpark, they can't allow a man and a woman to kiss at the ballpark either.

South you rather fail at comprehension.

This is the most pathetic thing i have ever heard. People should just get over it. Its no big deal! relax, its a kiss. Why are people so affriad. I hate how people just can't accept. IS it wrong? NO is it Right? for some people YES. WTF let it go! I just want to smack people who can't accept it.

The team says it has a code of conduct, which is announced before each game and highlights public displays of affection that are ``not appropriate in a public, family setting.'' ???????????????????????

Jeez, considering many of my lesbian friends are mums to very loved and cared for children, I'd say that two mothers kissing is a damned healthy and appropriate display of affection for any family to see.

But that's the fucked up thing about it isn't it? Two people showing love and mutual respect for each other is a sin, but a bunch of fat, beer swilling, yahooing twits at a ball game is appropriate for all the kids there to see.

Go figure......

I thought girl-girl kissing was supposed to be extremely popular... I guess it's not technically family appropriate, though, because it won't lead to a family addition like girl-guy might. ;)

I guess the ball teams simply "forget" the code of conduct when they leave the field and are arrested for drugs, drunk driving, and the like.

But don't you know it's all about the children? Moo(mother obsessed with her offspring) is uncomfortable with her feelings of lesbians/gays and has to use said offspring as an excuse. Like the OP said. Instead of taking that opportunity to teach a lesson of tolerance, she chose to continue the hate. I'm so fucking tired of the whole damned world being censored for kids! Fuck that. If parents would do their proper job, the world wouldn't be like that. If you want kid friendly, take them to Chuck E Cheese or some place similar. Let the rest of us live our lives. Whew! I feel so much beter now.

This is a great comment and observation!

It is nothing new when it comes from USA, it is just saddening that some bigoted people complain over two people of the same sex ,because they show their love to each other in public. But if two people in Copenhagen are kissing and they are of the same gender. Then people would just raise their shoulders and say "well" and walk on.
If they aren´t fuckedup inbred sons /daughters of bitches who has a hatred aginst gay people. Heck I love seeing people kiss, since it is a sign of love. And well yesterday I saw the documentary Tying The Knot , and it made me go into a strange GLBT defence mood, which I am still in. But not as hard like yesterday. So if two women or two men are kissing, then let them fucking kiss. And if they want to marry, then let them marry out of love. And the government in USA should change some serious laws. Because it is absurd what is happening over there.

no PDA is a code of conduct that is announced before the game. Do I believe that this code of conduct is totally absurd - absolutely.

Dont get me wrong, I see nothing wrong with 2 people kissing regardless of their sexes. If a man and a woman can kiss why can't a man and another man or a woman and another woman.

I still feel she knew this before hand and is doing this to continue her 15 minutes of fame and / or jumpstart her career. We will see....

my opinion...

Maybe someone should write a children's book with a title like "Heather Has Two Mommies".

So you're saying that just because she was on TV she's doing things for attention? There are many stories of 2 girls getting in trouble for kissing aswell and yes they also got in the news so what makes you think that Sirbrina is any different? Were those other girls trying to get 15 minutes? Nope they were just defending their rights.

Answer that questions if you can.

actually, in the original news story they were accused of groping and making out, not simply kissing. if that's true then i see nothing wrong with them asking her to stop. if it isn't then that's just fucked, but it's silly to get all pent up about this without knowing all the facts.

Do you know what ? if some people were caressing each other at a public ball game in Denmark. No one would notice, except those who were tight arsed. FFS, it is a joke so many things like that. If it was a man and a woman, then I believe the only thing that would have been said by the spectators would be "get a room" or maybe some clapping and applauses to them and whistling and so forth.
Violence is allowed all the way, but not love over there. Which is to just ridiculous.

i think people need to just let things go. If it doesn't hurt anyone then let it be.

Wolfie, you talk about america like you know what its like here. Your media would not completely display what its really like so please stop talking about it like you know what your talking about. I don't try and talk about denmark like I know about it or even england for that matter. You know why because I haven't been there and I only have what a biased media or newspaper presents. America is far from perfect and has a long way to go in glbt rights but its not this bigoted land that you seem to think. Most people here just let things be and don't worry about it. There is a vocal minority that influences the masses to not stand up and speak against the hypocracy but its change fairly rapidly. Since I've come out to my friends and family I've had nothing but support from mostly everyone. Some of these people I thought wouldn't accept me but the welcomed me with open arms. The bigotry is changing and its changing fairly quickly as science is showing things are what they are. Give the american people some credit. We are slow at making changes country wide but thats because we are a big fucking country and there are area's that will take awhile to change but the majority of the country is changing and slowly becoming accepting of the glbt community and our lifestyles. Is it anywhere near where we want it to be no but it is changing and we just have to keep pushing without forcing ourselves on them at least thats my opinion.

Ok, to everybody who doesn´t know . Then I am not talking about the good people in the USA, I am talking about the bigoted people. And that doesn´t matter what country it is in. But right now, I am talking about the bigoted part of the people in USA. Ok ? :)

Sarcasm on.
And oops, I have no idea what is going on in USA .
Sarcasm off.

of course I have an idea what is going on in USA. And I think it is great your family is supporting you, but look at your neighbour . he probably would not accept, if his son came to him one day and said " dad, I am gay . Get used to it ! ". But then again his dad could say "well son, I still love you, even if you were a TS like the neighbours son/daughter.

no wolfie you don't get it. you don't get it at all. People here know there are gay people and we are around gay people all the time. Especially amongst the younger population we are becoming more and more tolerant of the glbt lifestyle. The problem is just that the people that care enough about things to vote are generally influenced by the people with the money that are christian groups who have convinced them that glbt rights like marriage are an assult on their way of life and society. Hell our government just passed last year the Employment Non Discrimination Act for the glb community we are making progress albeit slowly but we are progressing. I think bush vetoed it but it was passed in congress. Wolfie everyone that knows about my situation which is more then I've told have all been supportive and this coming from people that you definitely wouldn't think would be supportive. My 60+ year old female manage thinks it the coolest thing in the world. We have had several openly gay people working at my store. Its not perfect and the fact that there was a rush over the last few years to make constitutional amendments for defining marriage between a man and a woman shows that we are a threat to their views and they are grasping at straws as a last attempt to keep the world from accepting us.

the us is a country of over 300 million people spread a nation the size of europe into 50 different states and several different fairly distinct regionalized cultures that, though similar, can vary greatly from each other in a lot of ways. stop trying to fit us all in one tiny, little box.

Well, I know what is going in USA. So what you just said, I already knew. So yes, I do know what is happening in USA.

Wolfie its just frustrating that you lump the entire United States into one country with whatever you hear happening all over the united states. What is going on in Alabama isn't the same as whats happening in Texas and whats happening in Ohio is different then whats going on in both those places. Think of the united states like europe if it was one country but all the old countries stayed as states. Each division has its own rules regulations and cultures as well as views on things such as glbt issues. each state keeps a unique identity and we can usually tell things about these people by speech patterns and certain words they use. Then we have a national government that has its rules and regulations that each state follows. These rules are universal for every state but they generally don't cause any state to lose its unique feel. Thats what would happen if Europe became united like the states. Its individuality with unity.

I hate many things about my country as does everyone I'm sure but I also like our system if we can just fix the few broken things this country can be great. So I don't like to hear my country put down as a completely bad or homophobic place. We have our problems every country does but we get a bad rap around the world because we are one of the big boys.

We in Europe are working our way through the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty.
Ireland had their vote on it last week and voted NOT to ratify.
The UK were promised a vote by bliar but thats been renaged on by brown. Other countries now look as though there will be dissent.
When the EU was an elite group of 11 countries, it was keen to band to gether and make a lot of rules, laws etc universal. Now that the EU has expanded to include countries so far from the traditional group, we have realised that a "one size fits all" treaty isnt workable.

Example .....Turkey are soooo keen to join yet they dont understand some basics about human life in a first world state. Having sex with 11 year old girls isnt acceptable, its sex abuse and is a crime under EU law, yet to them its an everyday occurence.
For that and many other reasons i dont think they are fit to join and thats down to cultural differences, so lumping us all together isnt suitable.

That is why I vote no, every damn time I get the opportunity to do that. But thanks to my fuckedup government we didn´t get a vote , since they knew the Danes would vote no. The only time I would vote yes, is if we ever got the chance to the get the fuck out of United States of Europe aka. EfuckingU.
Or as the Danes spell it .... øv which means "damn" or something similar. Since it is an interjection. But the sound of e and u together would fit under øv in Danish.
