Lesbians, Gays and Incest

Just been having a look at the story idea/request board and found a lot of the topics to be requests for stories involving a gay/lesbian story line or something to do with incest. is there no market now days for sex between two ordinary people? and what is the fascination people have with these subject matters?

reading one of the earlier threads which brought up incest for example, people seemed to slate it and yet theres thousands of stories on lit, surely if theres a market and there read as much as the other stories, are my fellow lit. members just being a bit hipocritical when slating these stories or do these people just never seem to say they read them?

First of all, 'slate' means something like 'disapprove'.
Secondly, like gays and lesbians, incest is a taboo to 'ordinary people'.
But, the fact that something is forbidden sometimes causes people to want it, or get excited over it.And that is why a simple love story between straight, complete strangers doesn't sell as good.
(though I don't know if that is actually true..I thought heterosexual stories
were more appealing to the public..?)
P.Sersonally I don't think you were trying to sound prejudiced, but you do have to watch your way of speech.I do think calling ordinary the people who have nothing to do with les/gay/incest is a bit 'insulting' since all these are ordinary people.I don't approve of incest, but I can accept it with the proper reasoning(falling in love for instance, doesn't actually mean you are to blame for loving a family member-but I still don't like the idea).
Just like I want other people to accept my liking of both genders(and I said
'accept'-not 'approve').

I shouldn't have put 'ordinary' in my original post and don't see other relationships as wrong or freakish. I was simply trying to say that if you put all sexual relations be it hetrosexual, homosexual, incestous and everything in between, and dont get offended or have a bitch if I haven't mentioned one particular set up here!, it just seems so many people are requesting these types of stories that i've yet to see many story requests between a guy and a gal. maybe theres kink in all of us

I know a whole website dedicated to gay/bi/les stories, with a multitude of themes including incest for each sexuality.

And to harrowborg, there is a market for it, I personally love to read lesbian incest stories, maybe with a bit of watersports thrown in, but that's a whole different subject
