Ya I mean there are lots and lots of very straightforward ways a college roommate might find ways to blackmail the person they live with.

1- she finds out cheerleader is selling drugs to help pay tuition

2- she finds out the cheerleader is camming to make money

3- roommate finds out she has been buying all her term papers and should be kicked out of college for cheating....

I mean I came up with those in like 30 seconds. drugging and raping seems like you just have a very unlikable character on your hands.

The remedy for that is to flip the pow. Let's tell the story from the abused girl's position. So the mean roommate shows her videos of what she's barely remember, if at all, blackmailing her for doing more of the same. She caves and give in, and suffers... but not quite. She have her hiccups and her learned inhibitions and prejudices. Being forced frees her from those, and she discovers she could enjoy it.

But, she have to get back control. First order of priority is to stop the drugging. She may try to negotiate, or failing that, substitute the pills roommate use, and play act the effects. Subsequently, she learns to know roommate's clients who use her, become more reciprocal with them, and perhaps even befriend some outside of sex. Or even for alternative consenting sex. Then, it's time to plan a playback to her mean roommate. Eventually, perhaps a complete role reversal.

Then, the old roommate graduate, and a new sweet freshman girl moves in her place. So innocent, but so tempting...

Yes, the drugged part is skirting very close to some non-consent issues. Plus, it makes "Plain-Jane" the bad 'guy' right from the get-go. I think it'd be more interesting to flip it around; The popular good looking cheerleader lusts for plain "Jane". But she doesn't know how to make the first move...and "Jane" just doesn't seem to take any of her hints. Frustration sets in, driving the cheerleader to desperation...what does she have to do to get "Jane" to notice her?

I actually misread the original post this exact way at first, that it's the cheerleader abusing her plain Jane roommate. I too think it's way more interesting that way. It also has a clear path for the 'plain Jane' to become popular, at least in a limited sub-strata.
