Another "hotel idea".

It strikes me that the possibilities for blackmail with all the modern technology of mini surveillance cameras and bugs of various kinds are greater than ever.

An unscrupulous hotel manager or owner would have little trouble in identifying which couples have hired rooms for a one night stand or dirty weekend away from the unsuspecting spouses back home. Tracking down actual identities and thereby contact details might be a touch trickier but far from impossible. A small leap from there to setting up a nice little business in blackmailing with photos/footage - either to extort money OR sexual favours.

An interesting twist might be to have the blackmailer as a woman. She could select the hunkier males as targets or follow lesbian leanings, blackmailing straight women into sharing her bed.

The blackmailer may be just an anonymous pervert who blackmail select clients, male and female, into basically prostitution. Or even better, make them target select other persons for seduction. Of course, taking them to the hotel, with of course make them new blackmail victims. The never identified blackmailer, person or organization, may appear to have immense power by the end, but seems to only ever use it to perpetuate debauchery... although that may be just our accidental links in the endless seduction chains not seeing the actual game and it's results.

Too much sexual abuse here for me.
Blackmail stories can be okay for me if both parties find pleasure in it in some way and are safe and respected.

In this case there would be actual harrassment and you already mentioned extorting. I wouldn't feel comfortable with such fantasies

I'll second that. Not all erotic stories, precisely mirroring real life, are filled with romance, everlasting lurve, flower petal-strewn pavements and perfumed gardens.

Some people here need either to go and buy a life ticket to Disneyland or grow up and take an adult look at the world around them.

I like this idea. She could be the frustrated, prim and proper wife of the hotel owner and be carrying out such activity entirely unbeknownst to husband and family. If I wrote this I'd have it centering around the time when she finally got caught out.

Something I want to add that is in fact real....is that the older design where many rooms are connected side by side and several floors up laid out the same. All the running water, kitchenette's, bathrooms are arranged to the rear of each room. Having this design makes a "pipe chase" hallway behind every room convenient and has also become the perverted mechanical persons soy location that have been used for years!
One Motel 6 located along a main Midwest highway had been under suspicion after many guests stayed there and all complained of feeling as if they were being watched....and many also smelled cigarette smoke and at times they swore to hearing heavy breathing..... All the guests had stayed in rooms 113 and 114 located downstairs and ironically right next to the maintenance guy's work room!
Upon closer inspection investigators found peep holes and piles of cigarette ashes heaped with cigarette butts. and lots of suspicious sticky fluids splashed against the drywall under the peep holes! True story!

Thanks for that. I was leaning towards it being a woman, as per my OP. I write relatively few things up as full stories and generally leave ideas mainly as plot outlines - but I'm tempted here!

I'm biased, but the idea of the hotel manager being female is both hotter and somehow, more "acceptable".

I like the idea of her watching the videos for her own amusement and taunting and teasing her victims about what they did on those recordings and perhaps even Forcing her victims to watch the vids while she and others are in the room, making comments.

Married With Children, 'I'll See You In Court!', Season 3, Episode 10 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Married..._with_Children_(season_3)

"The episode "I'll See You in Court" was withdrawn from airing at the time. In the episode, Al and Peggy Bundy unintentionally have a sex tape filmed of themselves at a motel and attempt to sue the motel owner. FOX chose not to air the episode surrounding other controversies related to the show, and "I'll See You in Court" did not air until 2002 when FX acquired the rights to reruns of Married... with Children. It was aired for the first time as a "lost episode" in June 2002."

"To spark up their waning marriage, Al and Peg go to a seedy motel, where one of the porn movies they watch is surveillance footage of Steve and Marcy having sex."

So, they decide to sue the Hop-on-Inn.

The trial footage is hilarious.

Yes, although the OP's idea of actually blackmailing for physical, sexual favours goes down better with me. Agreed that having a woman as the principal ramps things up several notches.

There was an NCIS episode about this very idea. Season 17 I think.
It happened in real life at a Hooters Restaurant in 2004 in West Covina, CA when potential employees were filmed while applying for jobs and redressing into their new work uniforms.

Especially I like the thought of it being a middle-aged (or beyond?) woman who is having her way with a series of, say, thirty-something husbands whose seven-year itch has laid them open to this kind of blackmail. I daresay they won't be too hostile to the idea, anyway..?

Her husband - maybe he's the actual manager or owner - would be blissfully unaware of his wife's antics of a Friday night while he's away at his bridge/poker club...

I'm liking the sound of this already, just try to keep it down to earth.there's no need for spouses to know anything
about what's going on behind the hotel doors.otherwise it becomes just another ten a penny, mundane story.

There was a motel in Colorado who’s owner made a crawl space to physically watch the people in their rooms

Netflix documentary on it is called Voyeur and is interesting for about 20 minutes.

Yes! My dirty mind wants the wife to be the maid cleaning rooms. With her husbandblissfully unaware of how hot she actually is she visits some rooms earlier than check out time and offers her sweet ass to men and women!

How does that fit with the OP idea of surveillance/blackmail???

Dealing with a situation like sextortion in a hotel can be super stressful. First off, take a deep breath. You’re not alone in this, and there are steps you can take to protect yourself. Here's what I would do:
Don’t Engage: Don’t respond to any threats or demands. Engaging can sometimes make things worse. Gather Evidence: Take screenshots of all messages and save any emails or texts. This will be helpful if you decide to report it. Report It: Contact the hotel management immediately. They should be aware of the situation and might offer help or advice. Also, report the incident to the police. how to get rid of sextortion is a serious crime, and they are equipped to handle these situations. Online Platforms: If the threats are coming through social media or email, report the user to the platform. Most sites have policies against this kind of behavior and can take action to remove the offending account.

A hotel or guest house is such a great setting for sexual adventures, both in RL and fiction. I particularly like the blackmail idea with systematic preying on the hotel guests.
