The team waited in the comfortable chairs, and finally, Murdock returned.

“May I present His Majesty, King Tristan of Urmordia,” Murdock said with a bow, then stepped aside. Hiroku motioned everyone to bow slightly; Tristan smiled. He was an older man, tall and a bit gangly. He had wrinkles around his eyes, which stared at the team in a bright blue, not at all like the rest of his aged body. He had long white hair that was tied back in a tail, and his face was covered in a thick yet well-groomed beard. Resting on his nose was a pair of small circular spectacles, which looked to have a frame made of gold. He was dressed in long exotic robes that blended many different shades of blue into an elaborate pattern of lines and symbols.

“Master Hiroku, I am pleased to see you again,” Tristan said in a slightly strained croak. His age was very apparent in his voice.

“The pleasure is ours, My Lord. We are honored to have the privilege of speaking to you and being invited into the Palace.”

“What are you playing at?” said Tristan with a laugh as he sat down. “Are you showing off to your new team? We’ve been friends for years, so drop the formalities.”

Hiroku smiled slightly. “I wanted to set a good example for how a King should be treated.”

“I’m no better that anyone else,” Tristan stated, then held up a hand to silence Murdock, who had been about to protest. “On to more pressing matters. As you know, we have received reports of possible sightings of the Dark Ones. Troops that returned claimed there was dark activity brewing in the southern deserts of the Padashan Empire. I received a letter from Emperor Aliabu (AH-LEE-AH-BUU) yesterday evening in response to the one I sent him upon hearing the rumors. He denies any such activity whole-heartedly... He is considered a good man, but there’s something about him I don’t trust... Be cautious when meeting with him. I would ask you to travel south to the lands of Mercia, to the city of Freeport. A ship will be waiting for you, and will take you to Padashan, where you will meet with the Emperor. I must advise caution, as he believes you are merely ambassadors. Do not reveal your powers unless you have no choice. Find out if the Dark Ones have truly returned, then leave immediately. Not even you have completely mastered your powers yet, Hiroku.”

“That is correct...” stated Hiroku in a low voice.

“I mean no disrespect,” he said with a smile. “Why rush into battle unprepared when you can retreat and return stronger? There is no dishonor in that.”

Frellya needs no prompting in etiquette. She rose to her feet as soon as the king entered the room, and sank to a graceful genuflection as soon he looked her way.

Frellya remained standing, even once the King sat. She chose to stand so she could be nearer and better observe both the King and Hiroku's reactions to the king's words.

Hiroku smiled slightly. “I wanted to set a good example for how a King should be treated.”

Frellya considers his words for a moment the cooly decides not to be offended, she will assume he meant the others and knew she would have no need of such examples. As the King spoke, she paid close attention and make a

Frellya agreed with the King's wise words of advice but was forced to admit that things rarely went easily as planned. To her it seemed unlikley that all of the spirit masters would survive the event, she just hoped none of them died in vain.

"May I present His Majesty, King Tristan of Urmordia..."

Airatome stood and offered the King a bow, his eyes never leaving the King as old habbit. He then set back down and remained silent, intent on listening vigily.

"Forgive me if i am out of line Hiroku, Majesty, but i do think upon hearing the possible strength of our foes; if we retreat to come back another day, what is to say they will also not grow in strength? They may even acquire more aid to their cause....i think if everyone believes we are doomed to fail, lets fail now why they're at their weakest. That may be stronger then our strong, but i'd rather see what fate throws at us now as apposed to later. We may have a slight chance at this now, how much lower will they get if they grow anymore then they are now?" Having said his peace he sat there, waiting.

Shirow had stood without prompting from Hiroku. He had been raised among nobility, even though he no longer wore a seal. He didn't need to anymore, as he had left his family behind when he went on his journey to become a master of the sword, which he was still working on. He bowed slightly, then sat back down when the king told them not to bother with formalities. He listened quietly, his eyes closed, as he tried to envision the area the king mentioned.

“The Dark Dragon Spirits are much more powerful than the Light Dragon Spirits...” said the King after a moment. “At your current levels of mastery, you absolutely cannot win. If you all die, there will be no one to train the new hosts properly. No one to sense them and seek them out. You will return here and complete your training before challenging them.”

"I understand, forgive my outburst. Just frustrating we can not help those in need, when they need us the most. I will admit, There is very little that i know about my Spirit, and whatever brings us closer to knowing more about our Dragon Spirits, im ready for."

OOC: Don't worry, as some of you have said, things never go according to plan...

((no of course not, how could i forget lol. A thing actually working out perfectly? thats like, unheard off in a good storyline. Messing things up is what makes people want to know more.....well...kinda of......anyways, enough rambling...-_-; ))

Frellya (ice)

Frellya bowsher head to the King once more before speaking.

"Your Majesty, we shall, under the leadership of the Thunder Master, return with the the information you desire. While we may face great perils and may expect to be successful in many of them, your words reminds all of us, that none of us are ready to face the Dark Masters."

"When do we begin the next stoge of our journey, your Majesty?"

(OOC: Still here sorry for the wait, unfortunately battling a case of no internet at home so having trouble posting from friends houses.)

He listened to the conversations around him quietly knowing his manner of speech could at best upset and at worst outright offend, so Arngrim kept his mouth shut shifting uncomfortably in his chair. He too had wanted to protest about the order being to retreat without even trying but it wasn't his place, plus those that were talking obviously had more knowledge about what they were up against than he did.

'But...' As he thought he smiled to himself, 'If I find myself in a fight that would be more dangerous to retreat than stay well noone could fault him for that.' He chuckled slightly, it would be the first chance he'd have to actually use his powers in an all out fight and the first real action he'd seen in a while so no point in cutting it short if he didn't have to.

OOC: Wow, I thought this thread dead, lol. With the intense popularity of my Teen Titans game, I didn't have much time to post in this game, lol. I don't know when I will post here again, but it may not be for a while. I'm sorry all. Don't hate.
