Legend of Dragoon - (Closed)

“Zi…Zie…Z…” Rose heard her own voice whispering. As she tried to form his name on the tip of her lips, she felt something wet and salty clashing against her mouth, her whole body. The mushy ground underneath her shifted. She jerked her eyes wide open and started to cough uncontrollably. As she spat out as much seawater as she could, the gritty sand left a bad taste in her mouth. She sat up, scanning the surrounding and recalling the event that had bought her stranded on a strip of beach.

Rose was sailing with her new and young team. A ghost ship crashed into theirs, and then Shana was missing. That damn girl is always missing, Rose thought to herself. The team boarded the eerie ship for a rescue mission. The ship had belonged to the royalty. The same ship that Rose had boarded over a decade ago and fulfilled her duty as the Black Monster. For every 108 years, the Black Monster seek out the Moon Child and killed everyone the child touches. Rose had done this over, over and over again for the past 11,000 years. She felt no remorse. It was for the greater good for the Ending. No one but Rose, who truly knew the Moon Child true purpose. Everyone believed the Moon Child would bring the wolrd holy bliss. No, the Moon Child would bring nothing but destruction and the end of the world. Rose carried the burden of massacring and becoming the Black Monster alone.

Rose had accepted her curse. She was numb to it… Until now. She felt slightly remorseful as the team explored the ghost ship. Then those damn ghosts surrounding her, taunting her, and rushing through her. She felt different somehow with each phase-through; as if their intangible body laced with poison of some sort. Before she knew it, Rose was grabbing onto Dart on the side of the ship and trying to save him from plunging into the dark water beneath. "I won’t let go of you again!” she had screamed, holding onto Dart, thinking of her long lost lover, and being drag down by gravity.

“Dart!” her mind snapped back to the present. Rose half ran, half crawled over to the unconscious body a few feet away. She held her breath as she checked for a pulse.*Good!*She exhaled loudly. With his arm over her shoulder, she dragged the limp body into a cave for shelter.

After started a fire, Rose sat near it with Dart’s head cradled on her lap. Looking down at him, she ran her gloved fingers through his hair. After a few strokes, her eyes widened and frozen as if she saw a ghost. For a few second, it wasn’t Dart that she was staring. It was a far more familiar face. One that she yearned for so long. One that she truly loved. One that she would never ever forget. “Zie..Zieg?”

Oh how many times she had wish to see him again for the last 11,000 years! Zieg was there with her in body and flesh. Filled with irrational emotion, she bent over and kissed him on the lips.

Dart was a little apprehensive on boarding the ghost ship, but Rose had no problems with it. He wasn't exactly afraid of the ghost stories, but it really wasn't the way he wanted to spend his time. Being on the ship itself brought even more confusion and trouble for him. Despite the success they had been making in trying to Shana, it was as they were getting off that tragedy struck.

The trio were getting back to their ship when tragedy struck. It was mostly a blur for Dart, but their ship ended up being sinking while some flying debris knocked Dart out. He had no idea what happened to Shana or Rose after that.

It was the soft feeling of Rose's lips upon his that brought him slowly awake. It took a few moments to realize she was kissing him, something he hadn't expected. True, he had the occasional thought of doing something with the older woman. However, this was unexpected and he really couldn't do much more than lay there, a little wide-eyed as he tentatively returned the kiss. His hands were at his side on the ground, slowly closing as he felt the wet sand of the beach beneath him.
