Left 4 Dead (open to one woman)

When I heard the horn, I turned my attention to the car that parked by the curb. I saw Charles driving ad smiled behind my mask before I walked oer to him, waving my hand as I did. When I reached the car I threw the door open and climbed in, moving the paint mask out of the way, before I sat down. Once I closed the door, I pulled my mask off and placed it in my lap.

"Thanks for picking me up." I said with a bright smile, even as I grabbed more sanatizer. His car looked pretty damn clean, but once again, I wasn't taking any chances. After rubbing my hands together, I put it back away.

"Are the other guys up yet?" Iasked as I looked around. I was a bit surprised they weren't here with him. Then again, if I had the opition of coming out here or staying in my nice clean place, I'd pick the house. I looked back at Charles as I brushed my hair back.

"Are you ready to start this movie?"

"They're back at my place, setting up" I replied putting the gear into drive and rolling out. "I'm ready as are everyone else." Twisting my head, looking either way on the street and turning left we began the short trek home. The streets were mostly empty, except a few cars but they were being filtered by the check point up ahead. Nervus already just seeing the lights and the folks in uniform with their service arms I was nervous already at this distance.

Looking over at Zoey quickly with her nice clothes all she needed was the red jacket with white stripe, that was waitng at home, still she looked good but I didn't know how to say it without it coming out as perverted in some way. Me and Leroy had that problem, but Leroy tended to make it sound more diliberate just to get a rise out of people.

We reached the checkpoint and they let us through and arriving at the apartment I parked the vehicle and turned off the engine putting my mask back on and looking at Zoey. "They sent me a text message on the way up," isaid, my voice a bit muffled by the mask, "they havemake up and your jacket ready and we'll be good to go!" Now my heart was quickening as we stepped outside and fet the warm air and saw how empty the area is after many of my neighbors bugged out and that reminded me, "what was that noise on the phone, last time we talked?"

"This is weird, isn't it." I said as we traveled down the street to his place. "The streets are like empty." I peeked at him and grinned playfully. "Maybe we're looking at a zombie apocolips. I'm guessing a guy who makes zombie movies is ready for this, right?" Of course, I was just playing with him,. That would never happen... Hopefully.

When we got to his place, I put my mask back on before climbing out after him. "Great! That means we can get started sooner." Honestly, over the last few days I've been getting more and more excited about this movie. After shutting the door, I followed him to the apartment.

"The banging was from a girl named Hannah. I have no idea what was going on with her, but she was freaking out." I told him. "She stopped banging after a few minutes, thankfully, but sady it didn't just stop at that. She actually got taken to the hospital again. She started acting crazy. Screaming shouting, attacking... or at least trying to attack people. It was insane."

"Holy shit, really?" I exclaimed, "why..." but I stopped myself from saying anything else like that. She was right though, this place on its own was looking more and more like a proper set already. "I hope she gets better" refering to Hannah.

At the front door I inserted the key and turned it over and pushed the door and announced that we were back. The others were already on their feet and came to meet Zoey. As lovely as she was they were in wonder of what she was going to be like once we were in motion.

"You can lay your stuff by the door" I said quickly pointing at the closet door beside the front door, "you can keep your shoes on just wipe them off on the mat, please" folloing my own instructions.

Leroy was waitin to hand over the bright red jacket to Zoey. Holding it up he had a nervous smile as the camera was set up on the tripod befre the couch against the back wall and the weapons and other supplies were carefully laid out all around it t give the appearance of a well stocked safe house.

"I'm sure she'll be fine," I said, waving a hand at him. "People jump back from illness all the time. Its just... taking a bit longer then normal." I added, trying to sound hopeful as well as make him feel better. She hadn't ment to, but I was sure I worried him a bit with what I just said.

After walking inside his place, I slid my bag down and let it fall to the floor, before taking my mask off. As I did, I smiled at the others. "Hello everyone." Charles was right, everyone here did look alright. All healthy! Great! I wiped off my shoes on the rug before walking into the apartment more.

I looked at Leroy, seeing him holding her jacket. I moved after towards him and smiled brightly. "Thank you," I grabbed the jacket from him and pulled it on. "So, I stepped back, "Do I look okay in it?" I asked him.

After he answered I turned to Charles. "Hey, did you design this place, because I must admit, it's good! It looks like your really ready for a zombie attack."

"You look great" I replied and the others eagerly concurred. She was elagant, she looked like the game Zoey! If just a bit more blessed in the chest but we werent going to call her on that. She fit the bill perfectly. "Yes, all the stuff you see here is real!"

Leroy pointed out the boxes and showed inside were actually full of real supplies, including food and the weapons were real. Taking down the Uzi and a Ak-47 and allowing her to hold them they were real, we civilian purchased so they were not automatic, however, we knew how to turn them into full automatic. We let her hold and get a feel for the weapons and gave her empty magazines.

"Alright, we have to get you a bit of make up" I said. Turning to Marcel, our make up man he had the brush with a bit of blush to her cheeks. Macel was nervous in looking her in the eye as he liberally applied blush to her cheeks and then we had her move down the hall to begin the first frames!

Zoey was to come out of her room with her weapon and head towards the living room and look out the window and see infected outside, at the distance, seemingly no threat, but she was nervous about making any noises as she sat down and opened one of the boxes and g through their prepared supplies. She was suppose to look as though she had ben here for awhile and as she was about to eat her companions come in.

I looked over all the guys as I was getting ready, finally noticing the nervous looks on their faces whenever they had to look at me. It was... really odd. I mean, it wasn't like these guys were really nerdy. Sure, they made zombie movies and Chrles plce looked a bit like he was waiting for them to start running the streets, but they were all good looking. Guys that shouldn't have much problem hooking up with a girl.

I was shot out of my thought, when I was told what to do. I moved my hand up and ran it through my hair, styling it so it was more messy like then the groom look I had right now. If I was suppoe to look like 4've been here for a while, I can't look like I was fresh out of the shower.

I grabbed my gun and stood up from the couch. "Alright, I'm ready." I waited until the camera was rolling to walking over to the window, moving at a slowly pace, making sure not to mae to much noise, the gun at my side. When I was close to the window I used the tip of my gun to push the curtain aside, peeking out. I was thinking I was going to see nothing but a empty steet, like when we parked, but there was someone out there. It looked like a guy was stumbling across the street. I titled my head to the side, watching him for a moment before I remember what I was doing.

Slowly, I pulled my gun back and took a few steps backward before turning and walking over to the couch. As I sat down, I placed the gun beside me, before leaning over and grabbing one of the few bozes of supples Charles had set up. I ruffled through it abit, cringing when ever something ruffled, as if I was afraid someone would hear.

By the time I found a energy bar, I heard the door knob move. I dropped the bar and grabbed my gun instead, shooting off the couch, aiming for the door at whoever was coming in. Once I saw who it was, I slowly lowered my weapon. "Oh, it's you guys." I sat down. "Hurry and get in here. Did any of them see you?"

Hustling inside and slowly closing the door and latching it shut everyone filed up to the couch, the last being me. There was a mixture of relief and exhaustion upon us, we had a rather shabbily appearance from being outside, as we made ourselves look to be, compared to the cleaner Zoey. Sitting around the couch we were at ease for a moment and drew everyone close. The male characters had been on a patrol around the neighborhood, Zoey was staying put and now we were going over everything.

"Good news is," I said, "there's a grocery store down the block, hasn't been hit yet… we took out a few in the parking lot, but, nothing serious. There's only a few infected on the streets from here to there but they're far away off that we didn't have to worry about them, so that much is good news" flashing a smile. The others looked at Zoey and nodded. The supplies we had already stacked around the couch appeared to be enough to last all of us for at least a month, and there were more in the closets and in the kitchen supply closet.

"Take care of the place while we were gone?" Leroy whispered with a half-smile. He was going to be a bit sarcastic but not a prick. In our group I was trying to have everyone work together but Zoey was the new face, she didn't know how we really acted so we thought she would be a little stiff and hesitant for a while, but eventually break into her character. Thus far he was doing great as Leroy slowly stood up and walked around the couch and looked at the box she was going through earlier and saw her energy bar and took another for himself. Peeling away the plastic wrapped and sinking his teeth into the soft oatmeal and berries he felt it roll down his throat and into his real empty belly.

We had the cameras rolling and once they were I didn't want them to stop. Zoey and everyone else were sinking into their characters, no giggles or laughter, no breaking. I could take some mumbling or stammering on lines, I mean, not everyone is going to speak clear and concise all the time especially when under a lot of pressure.

I said to Zoey, "what about you? How are you holding up? Did you see any of them?" reaching out and touching her knee. It wasn't supposed to be a sexual touch just away of bonding but in doing so I realized that we didn't put that in the script.

"Did you check out the inside of the store yet?" I asked as the all sat down. "There might not be a lot of them outside, but you know as well as I do that there could be tons inside." I took turns looking over each of them, running over there bodies, as if to make sure they were alright.

When Leroy took my bar, I looked gave him a 'are you serious' look, watching as he took a bite. I reached up and snatched it out of his hand, "Does it look like a reck? Are there moaning, groaning corpes in the corners? No. Then I did my job and the house is fine." I took another bite of the energy bar.

When my leg was touch, I looked at charles, hearing the worry in his voice. Hw was actaully a very good sctor. He must have done a lot of these. I mentally told myself to remember that so I could ask how many. Right now though, I had to stay in character. "I was in here all day, while you were outside, with them. I was safe and I'm just fine." I smiled and placed my hand on his thigh, patting it a bit before I stood up.

"So, what's the plan? Going back out and seeing what's left in that store because if so, someone else needs to stay here because I'm sick of it. And I need to let some steam out."

"Okay, Zoey. We'll get rested up here and go out on another patrol. We'll go back tot he store and then see if there are any other sites nearby that we can use," I said.

Martin, the camera man, said, "There is the mall that is another block over." It was a large, two story place with an expansive parking lot with over two hundred stores. We had been there many times, it had an arcade, movie theater, several toy stores, and over one hundred clothing stores just to name a few.

"I think we're too small to actually go inside and clean out that place," I said to him before slowly standing up. Leroy took another energy bar from the box and went about eating it, flicking his eyes over at Zoey. Still remaining in character and the camera running, thus far we were doing well until there was a heavy bang outside the front door that caused all of our heads to jerk towards it. The door shook a bit and I growled under my breath for Leroy to cut the camera whilst I went up to the front door to check it out. Placing my eye to the peep hole I couldn't see anything in the fishbowl view slit.

Going to the window next to it and looking out, there was nothing there either. Very strange but we didn't have to start over, we could just pick up where we left off. Going back to my original position Leroy used a remote to control the camera and he pressed the record once again.

Counting down so we could have a handle of the video during the editing "3...2...1...action" I turned to Martin, "I think that place is too big for our group."

"Deal." She agreed as she finished up her bar and balled the wrapper up. When Martin mensioned the mall, she agreed with Charles. "He's right Martin. We can't go into a place like a mall until we have at least a few more people. That way we wont have to explore the mall alone. We need to wait until there's at least double the amount of us." If there were even that many people left unchanged.

When Leroy grabbed his own energy bar, she grinned before mouthing. "Now, was that hard?" Beore she could looked at Charles, there wasa loud bang at the door, making her jump a bit before she looked over at it. "What the hell?" She crossed her arms, watching him as he went to check it out, but finding nothing.

When he turned back to us, she gave him a 'What was that' look. He didn't seem to know, so he walked bac over in front of the camera.

When he started again, she uncrossed her arms. "You know, and this maybe a dumb idea, but maybe we could try to get in that mall. One of us or maybe two of us can cause a distraction."

The bang had thrown us off but when Zoey changed gears it caught our attention and Leroy was puzzled, but I didn't want to change our original plan of the store until there was another bang at the door, so loud the door shuddered on its hinges.

Growling and going back to the door to see out the peep holes there was a man bent forward, I could hear him hacking and coughing, but I didn't open the door. My mind was telling me that was a mistake and turning to the other faces I mouthed, "someones at the door". Leroy went and grabbed the camera and the others took Zoey to the back room. I was scared because it seemed the infected threat had, at last materialized and I wanted to be cautious and save as many as possible, right now it started with this smal group, my friends and Zoey.

We were to be as quiet as possible, hoping that whomever it was would just leave, but if they didn't I reached behind me for my machete and would cleave open their skull. The man, whom I didn't reconize, would remain hinched forward then propel himself at the walls with enough force to rattle everything and pause for a bit and do it again. Blood smeard the area and I knew police wouldn't arrive in time once he turned violent.

I crossed my arms again at the second bang. Someone had to be playing with us. I watched as Charles walked over to the door, thinking no one would be there again, but when he turned back to look at us, my eyes widened. "There's actually someone out there?" I mouthed. Before I could walk over to him, wanting to see what he did, my hands were grabbed and I was pulled to the back.

When the banging continued, I pulled my hands free. "Don't you think we should go help him... or call the police?" I asked. There was no way I was offering to go see if that guy needed help. After what happened to Hannah, I wasn't going to take any chances.

I nervously rubbe my arm, flinching everytime I heard the large bang. "That sounds like it would hurt. Why the hell is he doing that?"

Leroy turned to Zoey in a whisper said, "he might be infected" but was vague on just wha that meant. To us infected meant becoming a zombie ala George Romero or rabies infected like Left 4 Dead or 24 Days later. As silly as it sounded with everything going on I wasn't going to risk it. Still holding fast to the door one hand on my machete the man continued to throw himself at the walls then turned towards me and lunged for the door and he thumped and recoiled. I culd har Leroy mutter but he wouldn't move. The man lunged again and began spewing a thick green sim all over the peep hole to the point I couldn't see anymore, just the wails and screams.

There were several more impacts, the hinges bent a bit but the door held then the banging stopped. There was no more noise, no more muttering or wails. The man could've knocked himself out but I was not going to unlock that door and unable to see I turned to the others and sad, "until further notice, we are under lockdown." My friends nodded, knowing what to do. Zoey would be at a loss so I said for her to stick with me. Leroy went to the bathroom and began filling the tub with water, the others went to the radios, internet and scanned outside the windows before dropping the blackout curtains and broke out the real weapons, Zey was given a 12 gauge pump action shotgun and told it had 00 buckshot, not good unless at close range but until we knew what we were dealing with...she was also given a combat knife for protection.

"Infected?" I asked, confused. They couldn't mean zombies... could they? I mean, this is just some kind of extra in the movie. Then again, I could recall this in the script. I looked between everyone, seeing they all looked freaked, but serious. "Charles, please tell me this is something you guys are just making up!?" I asked, before he said lock down.

I watched confused as everyone started running around, getting things ready for... I don't know what. I moved over to Charles like he told me to and watched as they looked around before pulling down the blinds, turning radios on, then started pulling out more weapons.

"What the..." I looked down at my hand as I was given a gun. A gun! "Charles," I felt the extra heavy weight before I opened it up, seeing the bullets inside. "This things is really loaded." I muttered. After I was given the knife, I reached out, grabbing his shoulder. I wanted answers. I was already freaked with the guy banging on the door. Now they were all acting like we were under attack.

I turned him towards me and said, "What's going on? Why are you talking about lock down?"

Being serious I turned to Zoey and said, "Zoey, this is real. We're not pulling your leg. That wasn't an extra. We don't play around with something like this. Yes, we did have an extra, one of our college friends come and be a zombie but he never showed up, and we haven't heard from him. With 'lock down' we're turning this place into our safe house, we're trying to get as much infomation as we can because we suspect the zombies are rising." She was scared, like us, but we had a game plan. It may be just a large string of coincidences but we never risked it. Teveryone was given a real firearm and a melee weapon to carry at all times.

Leroy called out that he had filled up the tub and is canning it as the others were calling out that they were getting messages on the police scanner that they were facing people attacking the checkpoints saying that they were 'frothing at the mouth' and the was weapon fire, very distant but we could hear it. It was going to be very touchy. We didn't have bars on the windows, but we were on the second floor so that was an advantage, but we needed to knock off the stairs thus to deny them to anyone trying to get up at us, but we weren't going out just yet.

Pulling her close I said, "Zoey, listen, its too dangerous. We can't send you back your place. Your best bet is to stay with us until this blows over. We have supplies and everything. This is no drill. For right now we are staying put."

The weapons fire outside was picking up, single pistol fire then the blast of a shotgun. "Best you can do is stick with us, Zoey."
