I thought about what the assistant was saying. "Well, I'd hate to try it on anyone or any living creatures, but..." I sighed as I thought about how much we really didn't have an option other than that. "Perhaps --- perhaps there might be a way to get it going and then test it. But I'm not sure if the cats or rabbits would do. Their DNA is different than ours and the virus may not take hold.." I stayed busy looking over the different strands of the virus. Yawning here and there too. When the assistant mentioned that I should sleep, I nodded. "Yes, that seems best." I put away what I had been using and cleaned up with sanitary supplies as to not spread the virus. I walked down the corridor to the room where I knew Robert was and stopped at the door. I wasn't sure if he'd even want me -- now that he knew that I was infected.. "One of them.." I whispered to myself. I knew the layout of the ship and walked to Francis' door. I knocked gently and heard shuffling to the door, then it creaked open. "Francis, do you think I could bunk on the floor with you and Rochelle?"
"Wh---what's wrong? You and the captain have a fight?" Francis asked.
"No, no... It's not that at all. Just some things have come up and I was just wondering," I responded.
"Yeah, sure. Ro is asleep so you can just share with her. I'm going to head to the john and then see what everyone else is up to." Francis stepped aside and turned to go down the corridor.
I stepped inside and laid down on the bed. Rochelle moved and turned over for a little bit. "Oh, he did let you in. I heard a little bit -- you can stay for a little while." Rochelle was soon back asleep and I was finding it hard to doze off. Next thing I knew, it seemed like morning -- Rochelle was gone and there was a knock at the door. Had Francis talked to Robert?
