Gritting my teeth, that wasn't the news I wanted to hear. I wanted to hit something, the ship was off course, we were nowhere near our destination that has gone dark, and I truly didn't know what to do.
Going to the chart table and going over it carefully, there was a small port by the lighthouse called, Eddystone. That's where the lighthouse was guarding. "Try to raise the lighthouse" I told Jackson, "We'll try for that port."
The sudden words had all of the eyes on the bridge turning to me in surprise. "We need to put in port. We've sailed all the way across the Atlantic and our fuel bunkers are nearing their end. This small ship isn't going to go any further unless we top off the bunkers." Indeed the storm and going against the wind had drained the fuel faster than we had dared fear. We had no choice but to put in to Eddystone. Slowly Jackson picked back up the radio and tried to hail the lighthouse. Fortunate for us there was a reference number for the station's frequency, but as he predicted, each hail was met by static, but it was static so there was a radio out there.
Allysn continued to be teased, her plush cheeks blushing red. She couldn't look at her friends as they smiled at her reactions. She didn't need to verbally confirm their suspicions, they could tell they were right by her reaction, then her hands fell over her stomach in a lovingly way.
Kassie snickered, "I knew it" lightly.
There was no doubt who the father was, but they were also surprised in themselves that with all the sex everyone was having, Allysn was the only one of them to get knocked up.
"I...I know this changes things," she said, "But please, don't throw off because of this."
"What? Why would we do that?" Kassie said, "We wouldn't do that to you. We care about you too much."
The port was only some 15 miles away, the seas was subsiding, but looking at the bunkers and then at the chart, the port was small and I hoped that it was small enough to escape prying eyes as the bow swung for the black shore, homing in on the bright flash of light on the horizon.
