I don't really care for rubber or vinyl,...the raw scent of good leather is AWESOME. As far as lace or sheer wear on my sub,...it depends on my mood.

I have a couple of "scenewear" outfits I enjoy wearing if we go to a party, but I don't wear them when it's just the two of us. Sam wouldn't wear a "costume" if his life depended on it.
I would estimate that at the parties I've attended about half of the women, and maybe a quarter of the men, were dressed in something kinky and the rest were just dressed like they were at a party.

Like dixi, he perfers me naked most of the time with a collar... However a couple of weekends ago he made me a beatiful nylon harness that just matches my collar. I have this thing for harnesses, whether rope or whatever, I just love them.

I do agree that comfort has taken a good part of our decision making regarding "what to wear"......We do like leather restraints, collars, a corset or 2 or 3.......lol, and I think I saw some kind of leather chastity belt on a piece of paper He had in his wallet, but I don't know ....we'll see about that one!

other that that, I have about 20 or more cotton or lacy thongs and things. Most of the time its all about comfort, and when I'm not wearing that leather collar I always have on the gold chain with a heart lock He got for me a while back (it never comes off).

I can't stand that latex stuff - it smells funny and makes me sweat. But my leather stuff is extremely comfortable. I love my leather corset, but I love my satin one just as much. Corsets seem like they wouldn't be comfy, but somehow, they are extremely so! I have taken more a liking lately to little PVC dresses - also quite comfy.

I think most men look silly in "scene" wear other than black jeans. But the sight of a woman wearing a leather harness, or matching leather bra and mini-skirt.....Yeah baby!

I love the scent of leather and the feel of special party clothing (corset, special heels, thigh highs, etc) on my body and in my head as i get dressed. I've got a leather corset that's seen a lot of wear, and a vinyl one that i like a lot, and a satin one, too. I've got special skirts and a dress or two that, while they're not leather, are definitely not everyday wear, either; they're definitely for fetish occasions.

I love lingerie and, like cellis, have had an interest in acquiring lingerie for a very long time. So i like lacy stuff, too.

As far as what i have seen in public, well, pretty much anything from jeans and a black tee (most people have on at least something black, but not all) to head to toe fetish wear. Usually, all in the same place at the same time all being friendly to one another. i had *heard* before i went out in public that a lot of people were touchy about what people wear, but i haven't seen it to be the case.

As for me, most of the time at home, i am naked with my collar and probably cuffs. i have a lingerie thing too, but my husband is not as into lingerie. He, however, does have a thing for fetish clothes, and i have several outfits that i usually wear to a public dungeon. Interestingly, i think more Dommes dress up than subs, so i always feel like the sub dressed like the Domme, but it's really important to him, so i don't mind. His favorite is latex (which i hate so he doesn't make me wear it too much), mine is leather. But, i usually end up in pvc because he likes it almost as much as the latex, and i like it because it is comfortable. But. i have also worn my black jeans and a black top. That being said, i am usually one of the more fetishy dressed people there, and i don't really see what the big deal is as subs are usually mostly undressed for play anyway.

As for him, he wears the same black jeans everytime we go. In the vanilla world, he is pretty much the preppy type, so he has one pair of jeans and two shirts he wears out.

Hecate, i've been told i shouldn't wear black by an image consultant, too. But i think the image people are the only ones who think so. Blondes look good in black, it makes them look pale and interesting.

I admire all of you who don't submit to fashion, but dress for comfort. But i adore leather and chains, and would wear my boots everyday, if it were appropriate. My dom loves me in nothing but my boots and collar, and allows me to wear a thong to indulge my strange sense of modesty. Long black gloves and long black boots are smashing combination, but it's hard to be useful when you're wearing fancy gloves.
