Back in the mid 60s, as I recall, Another President from Texas declared a war on poverty. Actually at that time America was fighting a 2 front war, one on poverty and one in Viet Nam, both very expensive endeavors. Then a couple of years before President Clinton left office, I saw him in Kentucky talking about the need to eliminate poverty, In Appalachia! I was shocked! As I was pretty sure this had already been done. Next we will be hearing about using midnight basketball to help keep kids off the streets and reduce crime.
