Just think of the money to be made defending the terrorists. 100 captured so far no waiting, begin billing the taxpayers immediately for defending the scum. You can drag out the trials for years too, I can't wait for the circus' to start.

The accused terrorists; they're not terrorists until they're found guilty.

Maybe it already has. A lot of these people are being held on visa charges while the feds threaten them and try shake info out of them. Some undoubtedly don't know anything. I hope some do, and cough up. But they may ALL be innocent. That's how it works under the law, and sometimes that's how it works in RL.

John Adams, the second President of the United States, defended Captain Preston and the soldiers of the 29th Regiment charged with the five deaths in the Boston Massacre. Even the most contemporaneously depised individuals need a rigorous defense by able counsel. Only then can justice be preserved.

'Justice' as our court system has created takes too much time, money and energy. It's time that our outdates system is revamped to serve the desires of modern American culture and not some 13th century revolutionary. We need to recreate both our enforcement and judicial system to quickly react to these types of crimes and swiftly punish the guilty in as severe a manner as possible.

In an era of 24-hour news and information why do we still have what feels like 24 week, or even, 24 month 'justice'?

I imagine a system where we begin prosecuting the accused before we arrest them. I mean, it's obvious a crime has been committed so why wait until we capture a suspect to start the trail? More importantly, why must the victims or the relatives of victims of violent crimes wait for a suspect to be found and sentenced before they know the guilty have been punished?

How difficult would it be for the government to keep a group of people ready for trail and execution and then let the police search for the perpetrators after justice has been done? Don't you understand that people are grieving? How can they have closure unless we take swift action and enact justice these suspicious group of people?

Let the healing process begin for the country, then look for the guilty.

It's a radical idea but I think it would work. I call it, Operation: Instant Justice.
It has a funky ring to it, doesn't it?

I don't want to get into a long assed debate at the moment but thats the scariest thing I've heard in a long time, your talking about revenge when what is needed is justice.

I think you should take a while and reread that post.

I like it in theory.

If it works, why not.

Something tells me you didn't even read what I wrote.. but okay.

This seems like a good place to say this

Why is it that if I were to come here on the BB and make a racial post regarding blacks, Jewish people, Hispanics, etc. I would be branded a racist and flamed within an inch of my life.

However, it's totally acceptable for anyone to post a scathing remark about lawyers...and it's all in fun.

The same people who make fun or lawyers and "trash talk" about them are the same people who are camped out in our lobby first thing the Monday morning after being arrested.

Anyone want to talk about hypocrits?

EVERY person is entitled to a defense. If you don't believe that, imagine the person being a member of your immediate family.

Oh I read it......in fact I read it twice to make sure I was seeing what I was seeing and I still think you have it wrong, theres a name for the kind of thing your talking, it's called a Kangeroo court and it's the sort of thing we despise about courts in places like Iran and Afganistan, I'm sure that if the lawyers on the BB were to really discuss this with you they'd poke it so full of holes that in no time it'd look like a string vest.

I read it too

Three times in fact, looking for something tha would indicate that you were pulling our leg.

Since it appears that you are serious, I'll simply say that this a tatic that Herman Georing used, and we really don't want to go there.

I read it. I think you are "joking" trying to describe what you think is happening after the terrorist attack.

But I don't agree with your analogy.

Psst, Outsider and Samurai:

Satire: (1) A literary work in which human vice or folly is attacked through irony, derision, or wit. (2) Irony, sarcasm, or caustic wit used to attack or expose folly, vice, or stupidity.

At one time Never posted that 85% of what she wrote was not to be taken seriously, and that even she wasn't aware of what constituted the other 15% until after it was posted (or something along those lines).

Cheyenne, I believe Never's post is not that far off many politicians' calls for justice. The Attorney General wishes to suspend due process for "known" terrorists. Even the most rudimentary working knowldge of the Constitution should cause him to pause before making such statements, and yet his calls for swift action are already out there.

Because lawyers have yet to attain the status of "protected minority" under the political correctness umbrella.
