*Laurel* Story Votes

Laurel, I'm curious as to votes 146-148 on Taming the Teach. Yesterday morning, I looked at the rating of the story and there were 145 votes with a rating of 4.45.

Then this morning I see the contest winners were announced and all of a sudden 148 votes with a rating of 4.38. Was the figure that was reported yesterday accurate? Because if it was, I'm not a happy camper to get three 1 votes in a row. Technically, one could have been a 2 vote, but still.

I could care less about the monetary prize, but I don't like someone not playing fair.

Hi Couture,

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll take a look at your story and see what the situation is. Possibly related, though not confirmed so, we've had a minor glitch show up in the voting database over the last few days (since we swapped in a temporary server). I've been cleaning up the rare found occurences of said bug, and I'll see if this might be related to your problem. I will PM you with more specifics once I've taken a look at your story.

Once we get the new server back in place - hopefully later today - we will run a search through all of the votes over the last week to make sure this bug hasn't caused any mayhem. If any of you authors see a couple votes disappear from your stories over the next week, have no fear - that's just us cleaning up our Server From Hell mess.

To say that the last week - with the move, the new member area introduction, and the server problems - has been fun would be a bit of an understatement. As the cliche goes, though, what does not kill me, makes me crazy.

I figured you had to be going nuts Laurel........so I didn't want to bug you about my being a virgin again.

I also noticed that some votes have disapeared...or looked pretty squirely of late.

I've also had problems logging on...but figured that had to be a server problem. As frequently I can't even get on to the site.

Hang in there kiddo. I still like the new format and know it takes time to work the kinks out.
