subkitty72 said:How does the allergy manifest itself, chicky?
I don't own any latex, but i think it's beautiful and would like to order some, but I'm scared that I'll be allergic to it 'cause one time I had an allergy to Mr Clean rubber gloves used to wash dishes. And, yes, I was really washing dishes.
Anyone know of a way to test before hand?
Netzach said:Latex gloves.
You'll know.
And if you're mildly allergic I'd steer way clear of wearing latex, increased exposure worsens the allergy.
subkitty72 said:D'oh!
Of course. Latex gloves...
I have to try this again 'cause not sure I was allergic to the gloves or the chore.
Are there any alternatives to Latex that don't cause allergies? Some material with a similar look, feel, sound?
Netzach said:A lot of people opt for PVC, but I don't care for it much. It is shiny, but latex has a certain hug that it doesn't have. If you want the visual, I'd say PVC or patent leather. If you want the *feel* I'd say corseting, old school powermesh foundation garments, thigh boots that lace up, anything that squeezes evenly.

yeah, I'm not a big PVC fan (pleather-eek) either. Patent leather I do like. It's not that comfortable-I have one of those thick belts with the multiple buckles and it doesn't move easily ... but very pretty.
Not sure about the other stuff; I've never seen it... Thank god for google and you guys.

CutieMouse said:If you eBay, look for vintage lingerie that mentions powernet or rubberized elastic - good rubberized elastic will usually be early to pre-50s, and you'll have to fight the fetish crowd for it, but you can occasionally find stuff that sneaks through.
Open bottom girdles in rubberized elastic with satin panels and trolley garters... yummmmmmmy.
I'll see if I have an old image around somewhere and PM it to you, kitty.

Netzach said:Oh powernet? I bet you have. Think mom's foundation garments from the 60's. Cone bras and girdles and long leg panty girdles are made of it.
subkitty72 said:Uuum, Netz, somehow the thought of my mom's foundation garments from back in the day totally takes the hitch out of my giddyup.
