Las Vegas advice

Good afternoon! Might be going to Vegas in a few months and curious as to where to meet married business men? I'll be honest and mention that I've never been with anyone else except my husband, ever; so might be a little nervous. But, would like to see if I might be able to overcome that nervousness and meet someone for a one night experience. I'm 53; so don't think going to some youngster's club is going to work for me.

Any suggestions/advice is greatly appreciated

TY for responding! It may be June when I am out there. It'll be some training related to my job - RN. And, I can stay pretty much anywhere I feel the mood strike. Have you stayed anywhere yourself that you recommend?

Go to a sports book at your hotel/casino, assuming you're staying on the strip. There's plenty of guys there and it's more conducive to conversation. Drinks will already be flowing. Plus, if you hit it off and want to go ahead and have a fling, you just have to take the elevator up to your room.

Agree. Just go anywhere in a hotel/casino. There are plenty of places to meet people.

This is a fun topic.

I feel like you'd have the best luck with convention attendees. With this group, you'll avoid the bros and bachelor party fools. They usually have decent rooms, a per diem, and after the work is done, they'll want what older guys want in Vegas--a good meal, maybe win a few bucks to show off they're the god of gamblers, and then of course, get laid.

Based off that, we have: swingers, fashion, jewelers, motorcycle auction, AV people, employee benefits workers, investors, utilities, tea merchants, bowling alley owners, anesthesiologists, newspaper circulation managers, and comic conventioneers.

If I were a 50-something woman, I would rule out the swingers and comic book convention because while both groups are looking to get laid (yeah, even the comic book people. Trust me.), they have a culture and language you will find impenetrable. The investors are all busy trying to one-up each other like they're the Wolf of Wall Street. I've never met an anesthesia or AV person who wasn't a complete freak, so...on second thought, go for it, if that's your thing. With a tea merchant, you're going to be stuck talking about tea for four hours, and this ain't London in the 1600's, so seriously, tea?

I'd target the motorcycle auction, the fire chiefs and the newspaper managers. If the idea of rough trade appeals to you, go for a biker. The fire chiefs are going to be the more clean-cut end of that spectrum. They're going to be at the South Point and the M Resort, respectively. I've never stayed or played at either, but judging from the Web sites, they're more upscale joints where a 50-something woman will feel comfortable. Hang out at the bar, play the quarter slots, and see what develops. Chances are, it won't be long before you get approached.

The newspaper managers are in the Planet Hollywood. It's midscale, but newspaper guys drink hard, have great stories, and you'll be entertained while he picks you up.

Wow. So much advice to help a 53yr old woman to get laid by a stranger. Now, isn't that the funniest thing you've possibly ever heard?

It looks like I may be out there June 11th for a few days. I guess one good thing about the tea convention - maybe I could have a spot of tea after a good roll?

This will be my first time traveling on my own for anything related to work and to be honest, it'll take some liquid courage for sure. But.....I think it's time to explore. Our marriage is just a facade at this point. A play put on for our kid's sake. So, I don't think guilt will bother me. It's just the fact that I've never been with anyone else, ever.

Anyway...thank you so much for your responses and not making me feel weird that I asked. I was kind of curious how a woman my age would even go about striking up a conversation, much less anything else. But, a lot of good advice from several of you.
