I don't think this is so much a huge concern about War and Terrorism for Lance. It's more the fact that he's an American abroad. He only actually lives in the USA a few months a year. The rest of the year he's in Europe living and training. He's clearly stated that he is worried about his safety and his chance of riding in the Tour if we go to war. So I think much of his statement is self-serving rather than meant to be shear critism for the President. If the US goes it alone without France and the rest of the UN, he has a legitmate concern to be worried about riding in the Tour.

I actually did not say I think we need or want France. I was meerly stating what I thought the motivation was for Lance to make those statements. Personally, I could care less if France decides to join us or not. We obviously do not need them. But thanks for putting words in my mouth, busybody.

As a conservative person, one who voted for GWB, I would like to say that real conservatives, Republicans, and other assorted persons that are right of center are not affiliated with Busybody in any way. I'm willing to bet there are more Iranian muslims dead at the hands of the Shah (put in power and supported by our own government) and at the hands of Saddam Hussein (also helped to power by us) in gas and biological attacks (materials supplied by Reagan and Rumsfeld so that we could glean actual battlefield effectiveness data from Hussein's use) than US victims of Islamic terrorism. That doesn't even include Hussein's victims in his own country. He was Reagan's "Our Man in Baghdad" during the 80's.
