Cause Shady, will fuckin kill you (ah-haha)
I said you don't, wanna fuck with Shady (why?)
Cause Shady, will fuckin kill you..

[Eminem]

It reminds me of the early work of Robert Frost. Once young Mister Mathers matures as a poet, I see only great things ahead for him...

:)

Shady

Can sure paint a picture with words, huh? It's like I was doing the robbin, killin, and maimin.

Unfuckingbelievable

And people pay money for that shit!!!???

At least Vanilla Ice had something to say..... sheesh

*licking lips and grinning toothily* I would like to spend a few a moments with the real slim shady. I can't promise there will be much left when I'm done, but the ground beef part of his lil philosophy will be accurate.

Ah, you bunch of old farts. I'm sorry, but even though I despise rap, I must admit, Eminem IS talented and he DOES have something to say.

Listen to the song "Stan" off his most recent album. It might change your minds.

LOL. Did you happen to see "MTV's Most Outrageous Moments" where Vanilla Ice was, in all seriousness, trying to claim that the bass line from "Ice Ice Baby" was different from the bass line in Queen and David Bowie's "Under Pressure"? Absolutely hilarious.

Yeah, I saw that. Vanilla Ice recently came to our school and gave an interview to one of the school papers...that was hilarious as well. The man does not have much in the brains department.

Well, gee, Kerrie, I'm sorry, but how else am I going to back up a claim for an argument unless it's with an example? Have you ever heard the song?

Whatever happened to Ice-T. He was violent as hell but he dealt with issues. He didn't just "vent his urban rage" with a bunch of expletives and slurs then sit back and act sanctomonius about it.

This fuck is just....... well he makes Vanilla Ice look talented.

As I said before, I'm not a fan of rap, but I think it is refreshing to hear a rapper who does not sing about:

a. booty
b. booty
c. popping a cap in somebody's ass

The song "Stan" follows a fan who writes to Eminem begging to be responded to, and finally goes over the edge when his idol doesn't write back. I think it is a very deep song exploring fanaticism and the price that comes with fame. I would encourage everybody to listen to this song before they make rash judgements on the talent of said rapper.

I can't believed I just plugged rap. *Runs off to listen to her modern rock CD's*

Anbody who is a fan of this clown is already "over the edge" ....... and falling in to a deep deep pit.

Sorry Pyper, I like rap but he is a no talent goof... and there are many more like him.

Although I find it incredibly ironic that I am the lone defender of this guy...

Saying you don't listen to Eminem because he has no talent is inherently contradictory. How can you determine he has no talent if you haven't listened to a wide range of his songs? This reminds me of many past moral panics where people (especially parents) started condemning music, games, or TV programs without even bothering to examine these things themselves. I think that it is just too easy to jump on the bandwagon because you hear someone insults women. It is best to make your own opinions based on your own first hand experience.

Now, I know I am playing devil's advocate here, but I am anti-censorship, pro-openmindedness. I could claim I hate Neil Diamond and think he should be abolished because he is whiny, but without having listened to him my opinion isn't valid.

I am a former Disc Jocky, forced by mindless childlike strippers to play that fucking album over and over. My opinion carries weight, because I watched the crowd's reaction to Slim (shikky shikky shikky) Shady. Even though the nineteen year old skank on stage was sure everyone was into Eminem, they weren't. Tips went down. She made less that the previous or following songs. He isn't the only one, but his talent, or lack thereof, seems to be in alienating everyone but the stupid strippers and young skanky sluttys were/are convinced that she could change him, if he would just go out with her. That whole "bad boy" thing, I guess.

Dr. Dre made him. But Dre made a whole slew of no talent rhymers.

Okay, I'm tired of arguing.

I didn't say Eminem deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. Yes, he seems like a very angry person, and perhaps he is a homophobe and a misogynist (although I think that's debatable). But I think he has talent, and I think people shouldn't rush to judge because perhaps they don't like rap in general or they think he is a bad influence on somebody or other.

And I still think you are a bunch of old farts!

*scurries away into the shadows*

Are you saying that I'm a young skanky slut?

Are you convinced you can make albino boy change his evil views, if he would just hang out with you??

Pyper

I coach 14-15 year old hockey players I have been subjected to every one of his songs.

I am in no way suggesting he be banned or censored. I am merely confirming that IMHO he sucks. He sucks and is all about marketing not talent.

No, I have no desire to meet albino boy. He scares me. And I don't think it's marketing, because, in general, few record companies would want to pick up a white rapper (especially after the Vanilla Ice fiasco). I think he is popular mostly because many young, angry people identify with him.

Pyper

Considering that demographic studies show that a little over 70% of the purchases of Rap/Hip Hop recordings are made by adolescent non-urban white males..... I beg to differ.

Yes, I realize that...but what does it have to do with marketing? Are you saying he's popular because he is white? Then why was rap music so popular among the white male population to begin with? It's not like Eminem came along and suddenly rap music exploded. And if he is so popular because most listeners of rap are white, then why aren't all rappers white? Why haven't they just shut out the black rappers? Believe me, there are a bunch of wanna be white rappers out there who just aren't making it. Why not? No talent. Therefore, for Eminem to succeed as a white rapper, he must have talent.

Wow, this reminds me of all those cause and effect problems we had to do in high school math. If p equals q...

Okay people, get your last hits in on the controversial rapper Eminem because the devil's advocate has to go to class and she can't argue with you for much longer.
