OOC: Caution...this RP will be more romantic than it will be raunchy! ;) It is set around Literotica High School's Senior prom. The theme for this year's 2001 prom will be Love Songs of the 80s! It's time once again to dance to your old favorite tunes! I know ya'll got 'em!! E-mail won't be necessary for this thread, but you are free to mail or IM me if you have any questions while posting, etc. :) Ravenloft, of course, will be my date to prom. ;) Everyone is invited. We need teachers or parents to chaperone the dance, a dj, and of course, lots of "kids" who will be attending their prom. You don't need a date. Going stag is okay. Just have fun!!! As you introduce your character, please do it in the style of "last minute" preperation for the prom, or along the outside of the school waiting to enter. Thanks! :)

OOC Continued: The gymnasium, cafeteria, auditorium, and surrounding hallways connecting the three large rooms were all decked out in balloons, flowers, and colorful crep paper. Everything looked perfect!

There was a dj set up in the gym, with some chairs, and ample dancing room. The cafeteria was set up with many large tables and chairs. There was a buffet style table along the front of the room. The auditorium was meant to be a quieter area for socializing. It was a place set away from the loud music by closed doors. It too had crep paper and balloons everywhere.

OOC: Briannah Leigh

18 years old, 5' 6" (5' 9" in her heels), long flowing chestnut brown hair, sienna brown eyes, average body build, 36C breasts.

IC:
Briannah looked herself over once more in the full length mirror in her bed room. Tonight was going to be perfect, she just knew it! Her long, chestnut brown hair was pulled up in a French twist. Small curly-ques framed her face, and little bunches of baby's breath were scattered throughout it.

Her gown, of crimson silk and black lace, was long and flowing. It had a swooping neck line, tight bodice, and a full skirt. She looked like a Renaissance princess, straight out of a Disney fairy tail book.

From the doorway, her mother watched as she added the finishing touches to her appearance. She couldn't believe that her little baby had grown up already. She was a vision of beauty, much like the mother had been at her age.

"Are you all set?" Janet asked her daughter after a while.

Briannah turned to look at her mother, the skirt of her gown twirling around her body. "Yes!" she said eagerly. "I can't wait for Dain to get here. I am so excited!"

Dj McPooh at your service...

Less than an hour now. People are already starting to show up. Ahhh, prom night, McPooh remember his prom night. What a wonderful time to be alive. It really brings out the love.
McPooh looked at the albums, all eighties. He was glad, he had an extensive collection of eighties. Those were his favorite music. He had to use a lot of his own stuff, since the station he worked at didn't have any of the good stuff.
".. and most of it was generic crap."
He even brang a collection of sixties slow songs as well. He knew it would probably piss someone off, but who cares. He was, after all Dj McPooh, and he didn't take no lip from the man.
The principal came up to him, "Everything set ot go, we are going to start letting these kids in pretty soon."
McPooh gave the principal a salute, "Everything in order sir, (or ma'am if a woman wants to play the principal).
"Good, let's not get too rowdy tonight, all right."
He cracked a smile, "Yeah, this eighties stuff is just rancid music."
They both laughed softly. McPooh finished setting up.

Dain Lavren:

Driving faster than he should have been, the excitement of the night to come charging the very air. He was a block away from his babes house and he reighned in the horsepower of his new car. He had never expected his parents to drop such a prize like this one in his lap. He pulled up at the curb, letting the engine purr as he flicked it into neutral and slipped out of the car. He looked over the roof of the car to see her. "Briannah, ba..." His voice caught in his throat at the mere sight of her. He knew she was beautiful, he had always known that. But, GOD! She was stunning! He felt himself turn red as she stared at him in slight consern for the look on his face must have been one of utter surprise. He stepped to the front of his car and swung himself up over the hood. Landing on the other side with a smile he came to Briannah. Taking her hand he lifted it to his lips, and as he had done in the past, mostly in private, kissed the tips of her fingers, one by one. He knew he could not acomplish speech just yet, the vision of her still flooded his mind. He knew that if he spoke he would speak some other language only another who had falling as deep in love as he had could comprehend. So instead he moved his hands, that held hers to her sides and kissed her lips. In the middle of the kiss he looked up to see Janet smiling down at them from the top step of the porch. He pulled away and lowered his eyes with a sheepish smile as he said. "Love you babe." in little more than a whisper.

Janet, smiling at the two kids, decended the porch steps, camera in hand. Briannah felt herself blush slightly. "Oh Ma," she began, "put that damned thing away!"

"I don't think so!" Janet replied to her eldest daughter. "This is my baby's first prom! Do you think I wouldn't take pictures?!" She paused for a moment, then added with a slight chuckle, "Now, line up!"

Briannah rolled her eyes, but smiled at her mother, as she and Dain slipped their arms around one another and stood in front of his car. Janet snapped a few pictures, then headed back up on the porch to give the kids some privacy.

Dain opened the passenger door to his car, and pulled out a small, clear plastic box. He presented Briannah with a red rose and baby's breath wrist corsage...

Danielle Garcia:

Sitting alone in her bedroom staring at her beautiful emerald green prom dress that her mom worked overtime to help her buy, Danielle started to cry. Her boyfriend cancelled on her as he had done several times in the past and now she realized that should be alone again.

Danielle's father walked in just as she wiped her tear streaked face and put his arms around her. "He's not coming, is he?" her dad asked gently and she just shook her head. "Maybe it's for the best, honey. He's done this to you before and now you can see that he's just not good for you." Danielle looked up at her father and said "I know, but why did he have to do this tonight?" Her father just comforted her. "Maybe I should just go alone to show him that I can have a good time no matter what." Said Danielle. She forced a smile and her father left the room after giving her an approving pat on the back.

She looked at her dress one more time before taking the flowing gown off the hanger. She began to rub her hand over the satin of the dress and thought to herself, "I have to do this, it would be such a waste if I didn't go." She then put the dress on the bed and went to try and fix her hair and accentuate her big green eyes that were still a little red from the crying. She looked at her pale skin in the mirror and sighed. She touched up her cheeks with some pretty pink blush to add some color to them and then put some lipstick on her pouty lips. She then put a little glitter in her shoulder length black hair before putting it up so only strands of it brushed against her flesh. She then went back to her bedroom and began dressing for the evening.

After dressing and checking her hair and make-up one more time, she walked slowly down the stairs. Her parents smiled so brightly that between their smiles and her radiant beauty it lit up the room. She hugged both of them and thanked them for the dress and the confidence to go alone. She then left. She didn't know exactly why she was going but she knew something was telling her to go. She got into her car and drove off while wondering what the night had to offer her....

Dain:

Taking Briannah's hand and opening the plastic box, Dain slipped the wrist corsage up over her hand. He smiled as he took hold of the rose and brushed the silk like petals along the tip of her nose teasingly then set it into her hand. He took the hand he had slipped the corsage onto in his and guided her into the passenger seat. The bucket seats were low and she was about waist level with him as she sat. He started for the drivers side but caught himself. Kneeling down he looked in at her with a large, loving smile of adoration. "I love you Briannah..." Was all he could mannage. His hand reached out to touch her cheek lovingly.

~At the dance~

By the time Dain was pulling his car into a stall, the front doors to the school had opened, and kids started filtering through. He got out of the driver's side, walked around the car, and opened Briannah's door for her. He took her hand and escorted her out of the car.

They walked arm in arm up to the front of the school, joining what few kids were still outside. Soon they were inside and having their "memory keepsake" picture taken. After that, they were free to mingle through the school's three large rooms...

At the school:

Danielle looks in the rear view mirror and makes sure everything is still in place. She reaches into her purse and pulls out a cigarette. She's been trying to quit but every time she tries, something upsets her and she starts up again. She lights the cigarette and inhales deeply, almost as if she's trying to relax. She turns the key back so she can listen to the radio, the song "Hold me now" was playing. She fights back tears and the urge to just go home by putting the cigarette out, shutting the car off completely and getting out.

She starts walking towards the front door. She spots some of her classmates sitting on the stairs and laughing with one and other. She thinks about turning and running when she overhears someone else mention that they were there alone, that eased some of her fears.

She opens the door and enters. Immediately upon entering the photographer asks "Would you like to have a photo taken?" Danielle shakes her head no and walks away. She hadn't noticed Briannah and Dain until she hears Briannah shout "Danielle!" Danielle, a little startled, turns around and sees Briannah. She walks up to her long time best friend and gently hugs her. She says hi to Dain and then tells the couple that she'll be back in a minute. She goes into the bathroom and begins to sob. She didn't realize how hard this would be on her, prom night and she was alone. Briannah looked wonderful and her face showed how in love she was with Dain.

Danielle was envious of Briannah but does her best to compose herself and walks back out to talk to her friend....

Dain:

"That asshole! I can't believe he did this to Danielle!" Dain said as he watched Briannah's best friend go off to the bathroom. "You think if you talked to her that might help Bri?" Dain held her arm as he turned his eyes from Danielle as she retreated back to Briannah. Just another reason to love him all the more. His compassion seemed endless. He even cared about her friends.

"You think if you talked to her that might help Bri?" Dain asked his girlfriend.

Brianna could see the compassion in his eyes. She knew he was sincere...unlike her last boyfriend before him. That guy had been a total asshole. He spent their year and a half together trying to get down her pants, though he never succeeded.

Dain was nothing like him. Though he and Briannah had "made out" some, he never pressured her to do anything she was uncomfortable with, and she loved him for that. She truly felt like she was in love for the first time in her life.

She smiled at Dain, kissed him on the cheek, and thanked him for understanding. "We'll meet you in the gym," Briannah stated. "Okay?"

"Sure thing babe," he replied. "Take your time. I've lived through two older sisters going through this 'date crap' stuff so I kinda know what it's like." Dain kissed Briannah back on the cheek and smiled warmly at her. He mouthed the words I love you then spun on his heels and headed for the gymnasium...

Briannah stood there until Dain was out of sight. Though she was happy, she felt like she would be crying at any minute too if she didn't get a grip on her emotions. Remembering why her best friend was crying, though, snapped her out of her trance. She hurried to the lady's room.

Danielle was hunkered down along the farthest corner of the bathroom, her face burried in her hands. As Briannah entered the bathroom, another girl left. The two friends were alone now. Danielle never looked up as her friend made her way over to her.

Briannah knelt down next to her friend, placing an arm around her shoulders. "Danni..." she began, letting her voice trail off. She knelt there in silence, waiting for when her friend was ready to talk.

McPooh put on Tainted Love. The dance had begun. He sighed deeply, there were a lot of pretty women in high school. He had to keep reassuring himself that anything other than thinking would technically be considered molestation. McPooh laughed a little. He couldn't believe how pretty the girls kept getting. He didn't see anyone who shouldn't have been a model, or an actress or something.
He sighed again. Love, a many splendored thing. He didn't believe in it. Well, not since his last girlfriend decided his camaro could swim. McPooh turned the music to a nice slow song, (I've had) The Time of my Life.
He quickly grabbed a bottle from his cooler. Avalon water, it always hits the spot. The lights were all but gone, just sillouettes of couples dancing closely could be seen.
He could tell, there was romance in the air.

Dain:

Walking into the gymnasium Dain took a look back. He loved Briannah so very much. He looked about the room to see who else was here. The moment he saw the little shit that stood Danielle up Dain pushed his way through the croud. He balled a fist up when he saw the fucker with another girl hanging on him. Dain was not a violent man, he stopped himself half way. He peeked back at the doors he had entered through. Bri and Dani would be talking for a few he hoped. He turned his eyes back on the shithead with a scowl. No, he wouldn't start a fight, not a fist fight at any rate. Dain stepped up to him just as he hid a metal flask inside his tux. He glared at him as he did so.
"What the fuck are you looking at DAINISH!" He challenged as both he and the girl looked at Dain.

In the restroom:

"Why does he have to do this to me every time?" Danielle asked to what seemed to be anyone who would answer. "I'm so sick of this that I just want to hit someone until they feel what I'm feeling." With that, Danielle got up to her feet and threw her arms around Briannah. The girls cried together for a few and without a word spoken by Briannah, Danielle collected her thoughts and went to clean herself up. "Look at me, I'm a mess as usual" Danielle said with authority. She then looked over at Briannah and said "I'm sorry for bringing you into this" Briannah just smiled her best smile and said "That's what best friends are for." The girls then left the restroom.

The girls walked slowly and made their way to the gymnasium when Danielle heard a very breathy gasp from Briannah. Before she could look to see if Briannah was all right she spotted her boyfriend and Dain. She took off running in her high heels almost tripping but managing to get in the middle of them. "You have a lot of nerve!" Shouted Danielle while pushing her boyfriend away. If looks could kill, him and the girl he was with would both be dead. Danielle turned her attention to Dain. "He's not worth it. It's taken me 6 months to realize that and I stand by it, Dain. Just walk away." Danielle stated. Dain spoke loudly, "You're right, Danni, he's not worth it but he's gonna get it." and Dain started walking swiftly in the direction of the biggest jerk he'd ever met.

Danielle thought to herself, "I just don't want to deal with this tonight" and started backing up. Briannah reached out a hand to grab Danielle but Danni pulled away with a mighty force. Not looking behind her in the process, she eventually bumped into someone. She turned around to apologize and she then noticed a tall, handsome stranger. He was holding some CD cases in his hand and put his other hand on Danielle's shoulder. "Are you okay?" he asked. Danielle was embarrassed and at a loss for words, all she could mutter was "Yes, I'm sorry" and then she walked away...

McPooh dropped his Lucky Star single. He cursed softly. The woman muttered an apology before running away. McPooh looked at her, something must have upset her, crying at her own prom.
McPooh looked at the direction she had come. A small circle was beginning to form, two figures stood in the middle. He knew a fight was about to break out. McPooh made his way through the crowd.
"All right... break it up."
The one short runt landed a right. McPooh jumped in the middle, holding them both back. He grabbed the little shithead by his ears. The man screamed in pain, his date cried out as well.
"All right, junior, out you go."
He practically dragged the kid out the door, and then plopped him down on his ass. It made a nice sound hitting the cold pavement.
His date ran screaming and holding him. The man held onto his ears, and turned to him. He was sobbing.
"If I catch you in here again, your ears aren't the only thing I am going to twist."
The man got up, and ran for his car. His date running after him.
McPooh walked back inside, and looked at everyone. HE had forgot about the music, and there was silence in the room. Everyone had their eyes on him.
McPooh did the only thing he could do, he cracked a joke.
"No ticket," he said, in his best Harrison Ford voice.
McPooh heard a few hell yeah's in the back. He smiled, walking up to the man who had gotten the right hook.
"You ok chief?"
"Yeah fine, and the name's Dain."
McPooh chucked, "Strange name, but then again so is McPooh, have fun."
He shook the man's hand and went behind the Dj "pad."
"All right, how about a little fight music?"
The crowd cheered. McPooh grabbed "Everybody was Kung FU Fighting," and put it in. It was a 70's song, he knew, but the night needed it, and he actually did feel a little better.
That poor girl, she must have been heartbroken. There were lots of guys here though, she will get over it in time, they all do.
McPooh smiled.

John Lewell

OCC: for the Countess, thank you for the great honor of accompanying me :)

IC: I sat in the car, staring up the pathway that led to her door. It was only a short distance, one I'd walked countless times before, but tonight was different...tonight was special...and tonight, the path seemed like it stretched on forever.

I shifted uncomfortably in the rented tuxedo, breathing slowly to try to calm my nerves. I so wanted this night to be perfect for Tammy in every way. I'd spent every penny that I'd saved over the last couple of summers, and my parents had lent me more, which would probably take me the next couple of years to pay back. But it was worth it...she was worth it.

I thought I saw a flicker from the curtain in the window of her living room. Well, I couldn't sit here all night, I thought. Reaching into the back seat to retrieve the flowers I'd bought, I opened the door and stepped out onto the path.

It only took a moment to reach the door, although it seemed like an eternity as a thousand tiny thoughts whirled through my mind. Straightening my tux, I took one final deep breath and rang the bell...

Tammy Martinez

"Daddy!!" I squealed from the top of the stairs, "get the door!"
My dad grumbled, but put down his paper and opened the door for John. Mom was putting the final touches on my dress. It was black, floor-length and strapless. The skirt had an under panel of white while the shirred bodice was quite low. I'd had so much fun shopping for it! But more shopping had been required to find the perfect lingere. The stockings were black held in place by a lacy garterbelt that matched my panties and a strapless corset that pressed my breasts up just like those girls in the movies set in the 1800's. Mom kept trying to pull the top of my dress up, but I kept pulling it down.
"Will you stop that!" she finally said in exasperation. giving up using my dress to cover my swelling breasts, she wrapped a lacy black shawl around my shoulders, tying it just above my breasts. Her look of triumph was priceless. She had to know that I'd ditch it as soon as we got to the car.
Dad opened the door and John walked in. He said hi to Dad then both looked up the stairs where mom was finishing with the knot on my shawl. He looked so handsome. I think mom wanted to cry, but she ran to get her camera. John's eyes never left me as I came down the stairs. Dad's eyes never left John. My parents really like John - what's not to like? - but this was our senior prom, and I could imagine what they were thinking.
"We'd better hurry, or we're going to be late..." I said, when it seemed that John's tongue might be permenantly tied. He helped me on with my wrist corsage and we endured the endless pictures and admonitions by my parents. Finally, we were out in the car, and on our way to the biggest night of our entire high school careers. And considering what might happen AFTER the prom, maybe the biggest night of my life.

~After some time passed by~

With things calmed down some, the attitude of the party picked up greatly. Danielle had taken quite a linking to the mysteriously handsome DJ, and that gave Briannah a little time to spend alone with her boyfriend.

They had been sitting together along the back of the gym, where extra chairs had been placed for people who weren't dancing at the moment. Dain turned to face Briannah, taking her hand in his. "Bri," he began...

John Lewell

I couldn't take my eyes off Tammy; she looked...radiant.

As we sat side by side in the car, I started the engine and turned to her, smiling.

"You look so beautiful Tammy, I'm the luckiest guy in the whole world."

She returned my smile -- she had such a great smile, it melted my heart every single time -- and I leaned forward and kissed her deeply.

Eventually we reluctantly broke the kiss. "We'd better get going." she giggled.

"Guess so..." I replied, beaming. I gave her another quick kiss and then we set off.

Several minutes later we arrived outside the school. It looked like everyone else was already inside, so I quickly parked up and got out of the car. Jogging around to the other side I opened Tammy's door for her and offer my hand, which she happily accepted. She stepped out and we hurried to the entrance, still hand in hand.

As we arrived at the door, I turned and kissed her again.

"I love you Tammy."

Dain:

"Bri..." Dain stuffed his hand into the chest of his tux, searching for something as Bri turned to look into his eyes. He was showing a slight welt from the hook he had taken but still shined handsomely in her eyes. "I..." He said, stalling as he continued to search in his tux. "I have to ask you something..." His brow started to tighten as whatever he was searching for seemed not to be in his tux. He looked up nervously, looking Bri in the eyes for just a moment then he scanned the dance floor quickly. At the moment the floor was fairly empty, and sure enough, there he saw the tiny velvet box. Just as it was kicked lightly by one of the few dancers still on the floor. He got to his feet in a flash and was after the skidding box. He came up to it just as another foot accidentily nocked it several feet away. He scrambled after it again and in his hurry he himself kicked it this time. Several eyes were latching onto the sight of him slouched over chasing the little box now, including Bri's.

Tammy

I just melted when ever John said that. "I love you too," I whispered in his ear as I kissed him.

We walked into the gym hand in hand. Everyone was there! This was going to be a great prom! We said hi to all our friends on our way to a table. I sat and John went to get us some punch. We sat and talked like we often did. I loved John's mind almost as much as I loved his body! And I could never get enough of his body! One of my good friends had asked me if we'd slept together yet. I told her we hadn't. Yet.
I looked over at him and smiled. He'd planned everything for tonight, he'd said.
The DJ played a set of fast songs that we just weren't up to dancing to yet, then finally put on some slow music. John stood and held his hand out to me. "Care to dance?" he asked.
I untied my shawl, then left it and my purse on the table. I felt a little self-conscious the way my breasts practically popped out of my dress, but with John holding me, no one would notice. Except him. That wasn't such a bad thing, was it?

In the back of her mind, Briannah knew what was coming up the instant she saw the small velvet box. She could hardly believe it! She fought the tears that welled up in her eyes. She remembered the day they had met. She had been crying that day too, but those tears had been over sadness.

It was just before Mid terms and Christmas vacation their sophomore year. Briannah had gotten into yet another fight-the last fight they would ever have together-with her ex boyfriend, and he had hit her. It had been during the lunch hour, and the couple was tucked away along the bottom of a stairwell where they argued privately.

Walking past the doorway to the stairwell, Dain had heard a strange noise. To him, it sounded like a girl crying. Being the gentelman that he was, he sought out the source of the noise to see if he could offer comfort. That was when he saw him. Standing at the top landing, he saw Briannah's former boyfriend hit her.

Dain quickly ran down the stairs, jumping the last five. He was in the other guy's face in no time, screaming and shouting at him. "In case you couldn't tell, that is a lady!" he screamed, pointing in the general direction of Briannah, who had now made her way to the steps to sit down and watch the scene before her in horror. No one-and some people had witnessed things in the past-had ever come to her rescue like this before. She sat there, silently, awe stricken.

When Briannah's ex didn't respond, Dain continued. "How 'bout you hit me big shot?!" he yelled, tapping his own chest with his fingertips in a gesture to the other guy. "At least I can put up a fight!" By this time, Dain was swarming with emotions. After another minute had passed with the other guy remaining mute, he added, "I can't believe you would use such a delicate young lady like Bri to make yourself feel big! What do you have to say for yourself?!"

Finally, Briannah's ex spoke. "Fuck her...I mean 'it'," he said. "Fuckin' bitch's a cock tease anyway! Good luck with her man, she won't ever put out!" With that, he turned, his back to Dain now, snickered, and walked back out to the hall.

Dain stood there for another minute, his hands balled into fists, his face red with fury. Once he was sure the other guy wasn't coming back, he turned towards Briannah. Instantly his face softened. He walked to her and offered her a hand back up.

"Thank you," Briannah barely whispered.

"Did he hurt you?" Dain asked, pausing to think at how stupid he sounded, and added, "Too much...?"

Briannah shook her head "no". With that, Dain escorted her, his arm around her waist, to the nurses office to get the small scratches under her eye checked out. He never left her side, both at the nurses office, and in life since then.

A fit of laughter from the kids in the gym watching Dain's comical retreival of the small box shook Briannah out of her memory flashback. She smiled as she watched him, wiping away the small tear that finally escaped her left eye. She almost jumped when her fingers brushed against the scar below it. She had all but forgotten that minor detail of that day in the stairwell. Feeling the scar, and thinking back, made her love Dain all the more!

After nearly ten minutes of his solo "dance" across the gym, Dain made his way back to her, a cheesy grin on his face. A small curl had fallen down his forehead and over his eye during his struggle. Briannah smiled back at him. With that curl out of place, he was his true self once again. She liked him this way.

"So where was I?" Dain asked, grinning like the Cheshire Cat once again.
