the secret is don't let the blade get dull, so change it often. if I shave there and my legs, the next time its stime to shave I use a fresh blade.

This is coming from a guy... but I think it has to do with your hair type as far as razor burn or itchiness goes. If you have fine hair as I do, you need less "attention". I never even use aftershave when I shave my beard and those hairs are much tougher than what's down below.

I like for my wife to be smooth (no "floss" getting in the way! :D ) I wouldn't expect her to go for anything less!

It's hard for me to appreciate a woman with hair 'down there' anymore. May be a sad statement to me.

It's great to be bare when she's making magic with her sweet mouth. It's quite a sight too.

I try to keep my cock and balls shaven but let the hair above grow. I think oral feels much better without hair in the way.

I have the same problem with razors. :(

I experimented with Surgi-Wax (at home, and microwaveable) for the first time about 2 months ago. I love it... it lasts for 3-4 weeks. If you want to try it, do small areas at a time and it won't hurt much.

Very smooth, and no stubble... and when it does come back, it's softer and less dense ;)

Edited to add: Probably not a good idea for soft male parts! I still use a razor on my own most delicate parts too...

I was going to say that, in addition to the shaving mentioned in this thread, cream depillatories & waxing are two other options, and the resultant smooth skin lasts longer. I've shaved, used that (awful) Nair For Men (smells AWFUL), and used a number of waxes. The most-recent waxing I've done to myself was with Surgi-Wax. I had a hard time with it, mainly because I never knew when the 'right time' was to pull it off. It was always so sticky, like...well, like wax. Any suggestions on that issue?

There's a pain factor involved, too. Ironically, waxing my balls was less-painful than the area surrounding and above my cock. It's been awhile (weeks) since I've done anything mentioned here, but shaving was least-painful...though I did manage to cut myself twice...damned thing slipped in my hand.

Lastly, and FWIW, PinkOrchid has a whole 'How-To' sort of thing on waxing, and it's pretty comprehensive if you'd like to take a look at it.

I think I posted there a while back... on the How To Board - a thread about Magic Shave remover? I've tried depillatories and such, but don't see the benefit when you have to shave a few days later anyway. They stink, they burn, lol...

If you live in a hot area, I've heard the wax has a hard time cooling down properly. If you're home is warm and humid, you may have to cool the wax in front of an a/c unit. ;)

In general, apply about a quarter size dab, spreading it somewhat thickly. Let it cool down, and apply a bit of pressure to help it adhere. Wait until it's completely cooled before removing, and pull the skin taught. Then rip... lol. Because it's a small area, it really doesn't hurt like you think it would. No more than a bandaid.

I, on the other hand, prefer to be hairless. Its a matter of comfort to me and I like the clean feeling of having no hair. Living in southern Fla., one does what one can to minimize the effects of heat. Also, I never have to worry about anything peeking around the edge of my swimsuit. :p

MMmmmmmm...just knowing that a sexy shaven woman is near me makes me lick my lips. Gotta love south Florida.
