I am so sick of not being able to find nice looking bras in my size! So Ladies who have bigger breasts where do you get your bras?

I wear a 46C (hey, I'm a big girl!) and the only place I can find a bra at is Lane Bryant and even they don't carry 46 in their stores that often. Then there's the problem of find one that looks decent and will last (I tend to snap underwires or wear out the bra). Suggestions? Websites as well as regular stores!

Also I perfer stores that have reasonable prices (I object to paying tons of money on something only I will see)

Thank you in advance! :rose:

Hi Ohiobbw.

I share the same problem with you, but sometimes manage a decent sexy looking one at Lane Bryants or Romans. I've tried Fredericks of Hollywood, but when you get up to the 46s, the choice of styles disappears!

Amazingly I once got a good looking black bra in KMart, but although they "fit", they don't stay long!

Lots of Luck!:rose:

Most fabric stores carry 3 and 4 hook bra 'extenders' in the notions section. You could purchase something for yourself in a 44C and use the extender to add to the around-the-chest width.

Also to extend the life of your underwire bras, never put them in the clothes dryer. I have popped so many wires and once they've poked their way through, there is no going back. By discontinuing any dryer use on them, I have extended their shelf life immensely.

Good luck!

How to make bras last longer...

I can buy my bras in department stores, but I used to have problems with the underwires popping out eventually. I was told that I should hand wash my bras, but really! I hate hand washing! So a sales clerk gave me a good tip: buy a lingerie bag and close each bra before putting in the bag. Wash with the other stuff and hang to dry. The bras will be dry before the rest of the stuff in the dryer is! I've been able to make my favorite bras last a lot longer this way, and it's no inconvience.

Hope this tip helps!

OK I Told Jenny About This

Fredererick's of Hollywood does have sexy bras in larger sizes and cheaper than Victoria's Secret. There is just a little trick to finding the right section.

The bra I am wearing in the Avatar is from Victoria's Secret and is a black lace demi cup 38DD.

But the bras at Frederick's are pretty and there is more of a selection than you will find at Victoria's Secret.

Good Luck and pm with any questions or help you might need on this I was a 38D at 15 so I am very used to dealing with this.

Hugggggggggggsssssssssss:rose: :rose: :rose:

I have a problem getting pretty bras in a 34FF, I love figleaves.com , you can actually search by bra size, which means you don't have to look at loads of really lovely bras, and then be disappointed when they don't go up to your size!!

I'm in the UK, but I just looked at the website and they are in America too. I hope this helps!

You know, I couldn't ever bring myself to order a bra I couldn't try on...lord knows mail/online order clothing never seems to fit!

I have the same problem Ohio...although I could have bras comin' out my ears if I wanted to wear those super-industrial white things that my grandmother would shudder at!

Actually, I have always had marvelous luck at the Maidenform/Bali outlet stores! It seems both those brands usually have some very nice diverse styles in pretty signifigant sizes. I'm still struggling to find some more that have thin straps so to be worn with spaghetti tanks and such, but I've found a couple.

I know several large chain department stores carry both brands (like Penny's, Mervyn's, etc...) Good luck!

Mae

My friend swears by bras from Additionelle/A&E and Penningtons. They make the most gorgeous bra sets (with thongs!) in every shade you could possibly think of. They've got sexy stuff (leopard, snake, sheer, etc) and more practical stuff for day to day and gym wear.

I don't have big boobs so I can't help ya there...damnit!:D But I can help with making them last longer. They must be hand washed and never put in the dryer! Chanson had a good idea, you could put them in a bag and wash on the delicate cycle but I still wouldn't put them in the dryer. I buy my bras and panties at VS, its bad enough paying $50+ for a pretty set...I do everything I can to make sure it lasts a long time! :)

I wish I had known all of this earlier.....

I just came back from shopping for new bras tonight, I wear a 42DD which is pretty hard to find at Kmart, especially right now lol
But I was fortunate enough to find something at fashion bug amazingly enough. But even then I had to "settle" for what I could find until I can make the next trip to the mall. I was just over at that figleaves.com website and I think I may have just saved myself a major trip! Thanks guys!

You may not want to fork the cash, but you're a hell of a lot better off doing so.

Find a lingerie store that's privately owned. NOT Victoria's and the like. Not dildo~x-rated movie outlets either. One that specializes in lingerie. Try on their goods and see what sizes they carry. If you find a bra you like, talk to the owner of the store. Weekdays are good bets for that. See if s/he can order the bra in your size. She should let you browse the catalogs for bras that you like that look good on you. A side benefit is that it's easier to get matching panties in your size. It's easier to find quality hosiery, too.

You're just going to pay more than 12 bucks for a bra. However, they'll fit better, feel better, look better, and last longer. My last one cost 25.

You can never go wrong cultivating a relationship with a lingerie store.

What KM said...I spend any where between $20 and $40 for A bra. They last me about 4-6months. It's the best I can ask for since I wear a 38F. I have my best luck in private stores like she said. They are willing to help me and make sure the fit is right. If they don't have it in the color I want usually they can order it and I have it within a week. To help make them last just a little longer I don't put them in the dryer. It really does seem to help.

I'll add another vote for http://www.figleaves.com for women who need a broader range of sizes. Shipping is free worldwide too, which helps too. I think the last time I stopped by there they had up to about a 50 bandwidth and a G cup listed on the search menu. I ordered from them once about six months ago and the service was good and the items I bought were really lovely.

PS -- I'm having de ja vu, like I've posted to a thread on bras and where to buy them on the board before. If I were feeling more energetic, I'd run a search and check, but as it is, I'll just mention it for anyone curious enough to look.

I've never ordered from this catalog before, but it came in the mail recently and I saved it. It is a place called Lady Grace.
www.ladygrace.com
It says it has been in business 66 years and carries bra sizes up to 56 and cups up to J. That should cover the vast majority of us here! They are having their semi-annual sale right now, too.

Back home (West Texas) I could never find bras that fit my monster boobs. Now I live in a community south of Houston and my boobs are average. There are women everywhere here with boobs that literally are in front of the woman as opposed to being part of the woman. Bra selection of bigger tits is incredible. If you are ever this way, PM me for some suggestions.

Chey, I've orderd from Lady Grace many times. They have a wonderful selection of bras, garters, slips, panties, you name it.

The service has always been great.

*Sigh*

The one advantage to being a smaller C cup.

:p

But my Mom on the other hand, she is quite large in the breast department. For a while she just dealt with having plain bras but eventually she did just what KillerMuffin said and really wishes she would have done it sooner.

I bet her boyfriend does too. *Cringe*

Thanks for all of the suggestions, I'm checking out the websites now. Hopefully I'll find something decent! :D

KM, I usually pay about $25 for my bras (Lane Bryant, and occasionally Walmart or Kmart, if I can find my size). I'm hoping to stay in the under $40 range. Mostly I'm looking for brands that last or stores that carry good bras.

Thanks for all the great tips, ladies! It's always hard to find harnesses for my H's, at least pretty ones. I'll go browsing for some pretties tonight :)

being a 44dd, and broke most of the time.....i like the just my size bras....they run between 12-15 dollars...( wal-mart) if washed but not dried the last awhile...if you look hard they have some cue ones too....btw i was at lane byant today 2 for $49 sale on bras....i think that is alot and i cant wear underwires, but they were cute... they also had some cute bustierres (sp?)

I'm 40dd, and I know that particular size tends to sell
out fast, depending on where I go.

I go for my bras at Lane Bryant, JCPenney (reasonably
priced), Macys (when they have their semi-annual bra
sale.....some good buys)........I also suggest the Lane
Bryant mail order catalog (my mom gets her bras thru
there sometimes), also Roamans catalog......

I understand about the prices of bras....its crazy! The
secret is to hit the sales and shop early on in the sale
when possible.......I'd rather pay more for a good quality
bra than pay less for a bra that's going to fall apart on
me.

My 2 cents :)

Good luck!
