529 or you could get her a savings bond.. one share of Amazon would be nice. We did that when each of our daughters were born.

Great advice. I'm nose deep in the market. I think Diamond Back (FANG) might give back 15% this year. I imagine a share of Amazon has been fantastic for your little ladies!

Introduce her to things you do. At that age, they mostly want to spend time with their dads. Take her out on a date. Show her how she should be treated. You’re the first male she’s come in contact with. Plan fun things to do with her. Ask her what her hobbies are and plan something around that.

The college fund and bonds are great ideas as well.

Introduce her to the world of what credit it. Not with her own credit card, but introduce her to what it means to save. To have an at home bank account. When she shows clear responsibility, introduce her to what a real bank account is. Teach her HOW to manage her money. Start with a savings jar.

Teach her about stocks and investing. Make that a project you both can work on together.

Or.... buy her a pony. :D

My two little girls shadow me every chance we get.

I took today off work to be with them (they've had the week of school and have been out of town with their mother). My oldest and and just finished two hours of jujitsu; it looks like she'll be able to kick my ass before she finishes high school.:D

The little one doesn't ha3 a savings jar; thats good advice!

Make a full day of it.
Breakfast date.
Ride bikes.
Go roller skating, rollerblading, skateboarding
Stop at an empty field after picking up lunch, sit on the hood of the vehicle and ask what they want to do.
Play tag while in the field.
Dave & Busters is always a treat!
Have them give you a massage, walk on your back.
Ice cream!
Go to the zoo! Have them draw their fav animal.
Show them where you grew up.
Look for a trampoline park in your area.
Take them to a stable and go horseback riding or teach them how to.
Take them to actively volunteer with you. Let them see the value of giving back.

Some of these things I’ve done. When my nephew was 5, he was full of energy. I took him to the metro subway station with the longest escalator and stairs. We walked up them instead of using the escalator. I ended up giving him a piggyback ride half the way up. We walked back down after spending the day out. I brought him back ready to fall out asleep by 7:30pm.

Thank you!
Let your inner child out. Be silly, be fun, remember to laugh in all that you do with them. Yes they may be the crack in your behind (they follow you closely, I mean), make it fun for them.

Bumper cars, go cart racing, teach them about the wonderful world of...the LIBRARY! Anything they want to know, they may find it on their phones or computer, but the value of books and reading about it is so much fun! Have them learn something new once or twice per week. Have reading contests with a prize. Allow them to choose their own prize but you choose one based on what you know of their personality likes. At the end of the week or month, they get it. Have the eldest teach you some jujitsu. Learn a different language with them. Sign language would be cool and they could volunteer with those in the deaf community and build a broader base of friends. They’re young enough to soak up things like a sponge.

Guy here. Good advise about the books. All three of my daughters love to read because we would take a daddy trip to barns and noble, each pick a book and have hot chocolate. Their married with kids of their own now and are still avid readers.

Thank you, my friend. Good advice from solid experience!

So what I've been trying to think of all the things my dad gave me that meant something long term. And this is gonna sound silly but the thing that keeps coming up is music. He gave me a love of music. He even picked a song for me. Not just me. Each of us got our own song. He would sing it to me and dance with me. And this is coming from the girl who did get a pony as well. Lol.

So my thought would be pick a song for her, buy her that CD. And then every year, give her music. Music you love and want to share, music that reminds you of her, music to inspire her. Music last forever.

And I know you didn't ask....but yes, years later that was the song he and I danced to at my wedding.

All ideas are great, not sure if this has been mentioned.

A personalized locket.

What did you receive at the age of seven?

For her, a gold necklace and a charm with her first initial.
Take pictures every year on her birthday recording how it was spent.
Do something SHE CHOSE to do. Let HER decide what to do.
Teach her what it means to go out on a proper date.
Let her see how female or male MMA fighters train for events.
If you have any high end clients, let her meet one. Someone she knows and admires.

Wow, you never shared what you did with your daughter for her 7th bday.
