is that the poem?

what is your definition of decent? the majority of us here are terribly indecent.

if a decent poet shows up, then what? how about two? three? usually, three spells trouble or something indecent.

is that the poem? wait. I asked that already. if you have a poem, then please post it. do it quickly, though. I smell decency in the air. or is that Pat?

probably..around..something..yes

I dunno. Take your pick from the last days' worth of incoming poems and judge for yourself.

Hey! I like the AV Tzara. You can bet you will pick up your fair quota of women if you can act like him as well. You'll have your nearest and dearest in a tiz-waz. You'll be having rendez vous with Marilou and all the angst that goes with it.

Dis-moi Marilu
Veux-tu Marilu
Répondr’ à cette question ?
Si tu n’ veux pas,
Tu dis : non !
Je ne t’en voudrai pas
Je sais Marilu,
Qu’avec Marilu,
Il ne faut pas trop insister
Sinon elle va se fâcher
Et ça je ne veux pas
As-tu déjà aimé Marilu ?
Aurais-tu essayé Marilu ?
Serais-je le premier Marilu ?
Réponds-moi Marilu

Dis-moi Marilu
Je vais Marilu
Te répéter ma question
Tu ne fais pas attention
Ça ne m’étonne pas
Je sais Marilu,
Qu’avec Marilu,
Il faut se montrer patient
C’est une petite enfant
Qui ne m’écoute pas
As-tu déjà aimé Marilu ?
Aurais-tu essayé Marilu ?
Serais-je le premier Marilu ?
Réponds-moi Marilu

Dis-moi Marilu
Pourquoi Marilu
Baisses-tu les yeux ainsi ?
Toi qui les as si jolis
Allons, regarde-moi
Je sais Marilu,
Qu’avec Marilu,
D’autres garçons ont dansé
Mais qu’as-tu donc à pleurer ?
Ainsi c’était donc ça !
Tu as déjà aimé Marilu
Tu as donc essayé Marilu
Je serais le dernier Marilu
Ça n’ fait rien Marilu,
Non
Ça n’ fait rien Marilu,
Non
Ne pleure pas Marilu,
Non
Ne pleure pas Marilu.

Oh to keep this thread on track. This is Lit, we are all indecent and wouldn't have it any other way. :D

Vous me gênez, Marilu.
Je ne vous veux pas.

Allez-vous en. Et comment?
Vous devez m'avoir?

Je sais. J'ai su.

PS: My Jane is wearing fewer clothes than your Jane.

I've got a copy of 'Blow Up' on my shelf in which our dearest Jane looks so so delectable in the altogether, enough to drive the most moral of men wild with desire and I'm sure Marilu is really obsequious and quite submissive beyond her cantankerous facade.

Aah Marilu! I have this image of a stroppy French beauty pouting and stamping her feet and all over her longing to be held in your strong arms Tzara.

I...am...number...one....hey!
I...am...number...one....hey!
I...am...number...one....hey!

*kicks heels in the air*

Woo-hoo
peek-a- boo
I am a smartass, too. :D

I'm probably showing my age, but Blow-Up is a fantastic film. It even has the Yardbirds with both Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck!

Though I must admit it is the mysterious Vanessa and the young Sarah that (ahem!) interest me in the film. Don't care for the drab dye job on the Jane's hair. She looks better as a brunette. I do admit she's pretty waifish looking here, though.

My "strong arms"?! Erm...

Wrong movie. I am typecast as the sensitive type who reads poetry by moonlight and who wanders disconsolately across the moors dreaming of Emily Brontë.

Works in its own way, though. Also gets help with the term papers. :)

And before I forget...

where..are..the..decent..poets..?

Lazy sons of bitches. Show yourselfs!

Emily Bronte = Wuthering Heights = The beautiful Kate Bush, who I fell in love with in 1978 when I returned to England from hitching to Greece, she was dancing on the moors singing (though I suspect miming) that beautiful song of hers Wuthering Heights. Such a wholesome English rose, that in all the years inbetween not even the tabloids have managed to print anything unwholesome about the lady. Though I suspect in private she enjoys wild torrid carnal pleasures but she is cultured enough to enjoy your poetry by the moonlight I'm sure Tzara.

Hmm Am I trying to get you a date?

Speakin' a which, how is the class going? We're all anxiously awaiting our grade on the James Wright piece!

That depends on your definition of decent. I have no qualms with any of the poets here or anywhere. Their style is their style, and shouldn't change it because I or anyone else may not like it. To me poetry is to be appreciated. Poetry given bad reviews by critics like most movies by movie critics to me usually hold the greatest entertainment value. If a poem doesn't shake your tree walk on by it. How many great works that we love today, were taken lightly when the authors first presented them. that's my take on it :nana:

I for one proudly boast that I am indecent...though at times decent but don't tell anyone!!

what I'd like to know is what do most poetry critics eat for breakfast :D

I'm right here, baby, what can I do for you? Make it snappy, I'm busy and these couplets won't write themselves.
