Most cougars have more dignity that any three youngsters combined. They just know what they want and go get it. In the end it's all about them and their wants. The rest is just windown dressing after all.

I think that cougar may have begun as a pejorative, but it has taken on new meanings as attitudes change. As women (on the whole) attain more total equality, the behaviors of them are strongly reflecting the "typical" male behaviors of the past.

Women are now waiting longer before they marry, waiting longer before having children, and going out in groups of friends for nighttime entertainment.

Greater control of reproduction allows for more frequent sex with multiple partners, just like guys did.

Not only that, it seems like heels are getting shorter (or disappearing), dress codes engendering (ha!) gender-roll reinforcement are being relaxed or removed, and other social mores are being completely forgotten.

The New Man in me shouts, "Go! Onward valiant female oppressed!"

The Guy in me says (quietly), "Where'd the stockings and heels go? Damn."
