This is La Rocha's special place. He will post about writing, philosophy, himself-- especially about himself-- his loves and hatreds-- especially his hatreds--

Oh, and himself.

take it away, darling!

I didn't see that he needed it especially. I must be missing some threads--otherwise, this seems to say more about your compulsion, Stella, than his.

You're missing some threads. Trust me or not, it's about LaRocha's compulsion.

If I may...

LaRocha, this is your thread but I'd like to describe you. I think I can do it completely in 10 words. "Intellectually Challenged"

I've gone a round on one of those threads with LaRocha today--but I saw no reason to make his compulsion mine as well. When the argument got circular, I just walked away.

I don't see a point to this thread either. And it's mean spirited.

I assure you I intend it in the very best of ways. :)

I have an idea; if anyone finds themselves being goaded into one of his liitle pissing contests, you can move your objections over here instead of letting him threadjack someone else's convo.

I like your thinking Stella....much better than giving him attention.

This thread isn't completely pointless, he may not actually post in here but at least all hus alts will.

BTW: Only a true Blackbird jock would know what "the roach" is code for.

The roach is staying away. So is Amimoron, three sheets to the wind and Jimmie BJ.

Just sayin'......

And to the OP, I was just curious, is that photoshop picture supposed to be you as Steve Buscemi?

comments similar to the two you just made are what made people hate LaRocha, who was the original point of THIS thread. Be careful about posting nasty comments and then bitching about free speech when no one else wants to hear your nasty comments (reference This post ) is a sure way to make enemies on this board for no good reason other than you wanting to be petty.

If you don't like the topic of a thread, then stay away from it. Threads die down faster when the complainers stay away. It's funny, but bitching about the content of the thread keeps it up LONGER and then gives you more reason to bitch about it when you just made yourself part of the problem.

I am sure that you are a very nice person when we get to know you, but for your own sake, and a much more pleasant forum experience for everyone (including yourself) please refrain from making nasty or rude comments unless directly provoked.

I really don't care whether you think I'm a nice person or not, sweetheart. I'm a wonderful person with a whole lotta feeling and attitude to spare and I honestly don't feel the least compunction to try to say what you want me to say because you want me to say it.

I never said at all the word "censorship," that was yours. I said "free speech," which I'm an advocate of, and if I think something is stupid, funny, odd, dumb, smart, ridiculous or whatever, I'm gonna say so. You can do whatever you want. You can try to be the resident hall monitor if you like. It won't change anything.

There's probably only a handful of people who hate LaRocha, maybe a dozen who don't like him very much. But LaRocha is important for a feeling of community. As long as there are marginal people here, the folks who come here everyday for human interaction can feel that they are part of something and might go about their day a little less lonely. "Let's destroy these marginal characters, they ruin our message boards!" So, I'm all for threads like this, it gives everyone a moment to feel important, to feel like they had their say.

p.s. Laurafairlie gives me a little bit of a boner. And most of the stuff that James and Amicus say makes me laugh. Trysail doesn't say anything, so I don't care if he gets pushed to the margins.

I'm kidding, the erection came from Cornell's trouncing of Temple today. It's not going down, I'm going to put my wife out of commission tonight with this one.

I just hate out and out expressions of hostility. Intentionally mean spirited comments drag things down. While I may have not liked Stella's point in making this thread, I felt the need to let Laurafarlie know that what she's doing is going to get her lumped in with the likes of JBJ and LaRocha.

I saw it as fair warning and nothing more. Perhaps I could have been nicer, but I was still pretty heated about her flippant free speech reference somewhere else. I'm over it.

As I posted in another thread: I should have known better than to get in an argument with someone on an internet message board. Things here just aren't that serious.

laurafairlie, I apologize. I am sorry that I offended you and I will try not to do so in the future.

For the (erasable) record....

I don't hate LaRocha. As much as I try not too, I just have a hard time with his tendency to hijack threads and post crude, unfunny and malicious comments about the things others have to say. It's all too easy to do, is unhelpful and sometimes hateful. It's cheap, it's vulgar and worst of all, it's common.

JBJ is simply a one trick pony that's happy being a pig in shit. Early in my time at Lit I read a post to the effect that you cross JBJ at your peril because "human behavior is his specialty". I disagree. Spewing bile is his specialty. He's can't leave a genuinely posted comment go without posting at least three or four vulgarities, both in the words and the content.

Amicus is a case of someone who believes in posting beyond right wing drivel. He is incapable of doing that without including errors in fact that are spurious at best and disingenuous at worst. Pointing out those errors to the guy is like telling a river to stop flowing. At least he's generally polite.

trysail is someone who annoys by posting in over large font and in the only color in the palette that reminds me of Puke Green. His other habit is to cut and paste endless graphs, quotes and to generally take up excessive space. Not that there's a shortage of it here but it gets old. He also is polite.

I enjoy word play, sarcasm and trading insults. I'd rather do it a friendly and humorous way and most Litster's do as well. I won't back down from JBJ's verbal excreta, Ami's or LaRocha's moronicity and I won't get blown away by trysail's endless cut and pastes.

Every now and then I go over to the General Board to see how the big boys fling the shit/hate/intolerance/bigotry/general idiocy around. It's bad over there. Then I come back here and see how things are going. Here, it can be distasteful, especially from JBJ and LaRocha, but I'm not going anywhere.
